This was the relationship in Madoka Magica that broke my heart.  I wanted Madoka to grow up and get a chance to drink with her mom; I wanted Junko to know what kind of daughter she raised.

This is probably the most tragic thing in the series to me too actually.

The fact that Madoka said she couldn’t wait to drink with her mother when she got older, the fact that her mother knowingly said goodbye not knowing if she’d ever see her 14 year old daughter again, and the fact that ultimately she has a daughter she doesn’t even remember the existence of.
