New website online
I’ve just updated the inaudible.org.uk with a new design, you can still find the old site here incase you have any problems with the new one (I know my phone doesn’t enjoy the new site too much) or just plain don’t like the new design. I’ve also added separate sections for News and general ramblings to keep things tidy.
My main reason for not updating the site regularly was that inaudible related news could have been lost between my rants, however now they have separate sections I’ve no excuse for not updating the site regularly with verbal diarrhoea.

Game Theory / Black Swan released on Car Crash Set
I’m stoked to be able to say that Game Theory and Black Swan have just been released on Car Crash Set. You can grab them from Addictech and Juno amongst other places online.
Also keep your ears peeled for the new Freddy Todd remix EP coming in May which I have a remix on alongside remixes by Mochipet, ill Esha Samples and NiTGriT.
Anyhoo, on with the shpeil…
Inaudible ‘Game Theory’ / ‘Black Swan’
(Car Crash Set C/C/S2012)
01. ‘Game Theory’
02. ‘Black Swan’Inaudible graces Car Crash Set with a two track single for his cuts ‘Game Theory’ and ‘Black Swan’. This up-and-coming UK artist has most recently landed on glitch-hop mega-label Muti Music with his ‘Corporate Propaganda’single and will soon appear as a remixer on Freddy Todd’s next EP for Car Crash Set (‘Space 5 Penthouse’ – look forit in May!). This single combines two tracks that I’ve been playing for months but never saw proper release – now is the time. ‘Game Theory’ is a stomping glitch-hop rocker that is not interested in taking prisoners. As with ‘Dog Logic’ from ‘Corporate Propaganda’, this is a midtempo track that is primed to obliterate a summer festival soundsystem. On the flipside, ‘Black Swan’ features a slower, more staggered, synth-heavy slice of glitch-hop.

Well it’s official, Glitch Hop has dropped in the UK and there are now labels and artists pushing the sound and enjoying the thrash and the whomp almost as enthusiastically as the US west coast. Inaudible hails from Birmingham a city with no lack of bass, having been the long standing host city for nights like Trigger that has been pushing both bass and ‘glitch’ cenric music for quite some time.
Inaudible’s debut EP on Muti Music highlights a side of Glitch Hop often dominated by the likes of Kraddy or th ‘Glitch Mob’ and the sound is done well and with his own ‘Inaudible ‘ flavour.Freq Nasty: “Yeah really like this….glitchrockcrunkting”
Aurelio Cianciotta (AKA Jaurelio, http://wickedstyle.neural.it/ Neural magazine): “Illicit basses and glitches!!! Amazing!!!.”
Sneak -E-Pete (Blunted Funk / Samurai FM): “Diggin this…funky and dirty”
David Starfire (Six Degrees): “rawkin!”
Subvert: “Sound Good.”
An-ten-nae: “nice one from muti music again.”
ill.gates: “love it!”
Ana Sia: “Dog Logic is the standout track in this collection. creative, nice swing, i also like the slightly evil undertone….”
Fletcher (African Dope Recordings): “on it. love that coporate propoganda sample.”
Sam (Surefire, Brapdem.com): “Defo feeling Dog Logic!!”
Pierre (Afromonk.com): “Wicked release, Dog Logic sound real groovy.”
Malone (Bijou Breaks): “This is some eeeevil stuff! Dog Logic’s the one for me.”
DJ Vela (Dangerous Drums Berlin): “Great Sound!”
Ale Fillman (www.dirtycircuitrecords.com)” wickid bass biz! big up from KIEVBASS!.”
Jackie Onassid (92.9 (2NCR) River FM, www.2ncr.org.au, Australia): A bombastic, epic feel reminiscent of squatters’ thrash punk rock crossed over with – again -a bit of early trance…although not too much of a fan of dark dubstep and finding the ‘conspiracist’ lyrics a bit dated, I like the raw feel and will definitely give it airplay.”
Great Scott (Glitch FM, KTRU Houston): “Fat crunchy midtempo – highly reminiscent of the Glitch Mob – but really the style is an entire genre of itself that really needs to be explored more, so it’s great and fresh that Insaudible is exploring this. The title track “Corporate Progaganda” is pretty hard and solidly rocks it – a lot of the Muti influence shines through here. “Storm Therapy” is nifty – the breakdown there does it for me. Hands down, my favorite track, however, is “Dog Logic”, with it’s great groove and metal influences and hard leads that let’s loose a bit of Prodigy influence – something I’m OCD about and love to nom on. All in all – I’m very pleased with this release. MOAR PLZ.” -

BBC – Synth Britania
Just caught this great documentary on the history of British synth music. With contributors such as Philip Oakey, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore, Bernard Sumner, Gary Numan and Neil Tennant all having a say. It’s well worth a watch.

Twenty nine ninety nine
The guys over at Papermill, have recently begun a quality Project.
They are putting out a track every Friday as part of a vision of the future for a whole year, soundtracking the year 2999, writing a wee bit about it and then getting some quality illustrators in to work their magic.
They have some amazing artists lined up, DNTEL, Slugabed, ill.Gates, The Widdler, Raffertie, Kid606, Mochipet, Robot Koch, Taal Mala, Max Ulis, Longwalkshortdock, The Librarian were mentioned over at Glitch Hop Forum.
All the tracks released thus far are worth grabbing, however Life – Upghostery in particular is an absolute monster. Dark detailed heavy dubstep at its best.

Beats Antique – Blind Threshold
The ever impressive genre defying Beats Antique have just announced a release date for their new album which I’m hugely looking forward to running through my head.
We are very proud to announce the release of our 3rd full length album called “BLIND THRESHOLD”. With 14 tracks the new self-release includes vaporous violins and Danny Elfman-esque dementia; glitchy, laser-guided harmonica provided by Blues Traveler frontman John Popper; and two very different vocal tracks that range between restless pop hooks provided by singer songwriter LYNX to the vibrant Eastern European folk melodies of New York vocalist Eva Salina. All wrapped up into an intricate collection of orchestral textures, heavy beats and sub bass. The new album was mastered by the great producer TIPPER with art and design by Andrew Jones and photography by Sequoia Emmanuelle.
I know we were talking about calling the next album Contraption Vol 2, but we decided to give this one its own name. Contraption Vol 2 will come when its time is ready. We have been waiting to share the art and release date until we had all our ducks in a row We have finally gotten word on the official release date. “Blind Threshold” will be available online in all major download stores and in physical form from CD baby on
Tuesday September 14th !!!
More information can be found on the Beats Antique website here

Ninja Tune XX
On 20th September probably the most consistent label I can think of Ninja Tune will be turning 20. To celebrate they are releasing a boxed set with all sorts of goodies, 6 CDs, 6 records, 2 posters, 20 stickers and a book. The tracklisting looks incredible. To celebrate they have been giving away a different freebie each week over at http://www.ninjatunexx.com, the current one is a beautiful Mount Kimbie remix of Adreya Triana’s “A town called obsolete” which isn’t to be missed. I was lucky enough to catch Adreya singing with Bonobo a couple of Months ago in Birmingham, absolutely fantastic.

this one time at Bandcamp
I’m loving the amount of quality tracks turning up on bandcamp these days, its a great feeling to know that your dollar is going straight to the label / artist and not lining Steve Jobs / Mr Beatport’s pockets. Here’s a quick collection of stuff that I’ve stumbled across lately which is available for download via the site.
Anodyne Industries has released a sick 2 track EP “The Combat Singles”, very Noisia-esque / reesey. Both tracks are sure to destroy dancefloors.
http://anodyneindustries.bandcamp.com/
Vibesquad, aka Aaron Holstein one of my favourite Glitch Hop producers has released his “New Creatures” EP earlier this month, which is totally on point. Heavy, wobbly, stuttered top notch productions from him as always.
http://vibesquad.bandcamp.com/
Last but certainly not least Misk has put up a free album “Saturation” for download on his site, some fantastic glitch / electronica, real squeaky clean production, which isn’t to be missed.

Live Coding Music
And I thought I was a geek…. this chap Andrew Sorensen codes music live using his own music programming language Impromptu. I can sort of vaguely follow what he’s doing. Really interesting stuff to watch, I can imagine it working really well on a big screen with the right audience. He has some videos up in the the gallary on his site.
It’ something I’d love to get into but clearly dont have enough time to do with life and pimpin getting in the way.

Slave to Suave
Just stumbled across Suave, a rather large EP by Mr Bill whilst reading GlitchHopForum.
Its Bran Richards / Tipper’esque in style, very very clean production and packed full of groove. Grab it from his site / bandcamp for free and throw a donation his way whilst your at it.

Biography
From an early age inaudible had a passion for music and badly tailored suits, the former being a blessing in disguise as, born with a speaker for a head, he was never going to get a job as a Librarian or Taylor.
And so, for no other reason than to pad out his Biography and fulfil his love for writing about himself in third person tense, inaudible set out on the long road to becoming a superstar musician.
Starting as he meant to go on inaudible landed his first major gig at the Birth of Christ, after getting much respect from Joseph and Mary (Mary in particular, giggedy giggedy) inaudible decided to get his head down in the studio and work on his production for a casual 20 Centuries or so.
After spending such a long time away from the limelight inaudible found himself hungry to get out there and threw himself back at the scene with a whole host of high profile gigs including warming up for Martin Luthor’s infamous ‘I have a dream’ speech and playing in-between rounds 2 and 3 of the Tyson- Holyfield ’ear incident’ fight. Incidentally during that same period inaudible became the first person to DJ on the moon, Armstrong pulling some mean moonwalks to Inaudible’s bassline bombs.
——————————————————-
Playing music from any one of many badly named flash-in-the pan band-wagon genres, inaudible always delivers.
- warming up the crowd for Martin
- dropping some underground ‘you aint heared this’ sh’t’ tunes during the birth of Christ.
- throwing down some beats, post Tyson taking a liking to Holyfield’s ear.
