Crafting-a-Life, Inc. is the hub site of a number of online ventures.
*Craftlit: a Podcast for Crafters Who Love Books* has been going strong for years and we've now added the *Just the Books* podcast, ebooks, writing tutorials, knit pattern books, and live events to the stable of services and products.
Of note are the online salons we've hosted via ScribeTutor.com during the month of November, giving writers a place to write their NaNo novels.
Volume 1 of "What Would Madame Defarge Knit?—Creations Inspired by Classic Characters" is on the stands now (and at Amazon). Volume 2 is underway—submissions accepted through December 31, 2011.
CraftLit has been in production continuously since 2006 and shows no signs of stopping. During each weekly episode, Heather Ordover, provides interesting and sometimes amusing commentary on the next chapters of a story, then plays the book's audio as a way to present classic literature for a general audience. Think: audiobook with benefits.
The show started specifically as a way to get classic literature to people who were busy working with their hands. While "crafters" are often the audience, it is far from being a requirement and listeners have written in to describe how CraftLit has helped them with housework, gardening, caring for an infant, running labs, just about anything. The podcast is free and more than 15 books are available in the online library as well as at iTunes.
As of summer 2011, back episodes are being edited to leave the book talk but remove the crafty bits. The result is Just the Books podcast--all the lit, none of the craft.

ScribeTutor.com is a unique online tutoring site providing writers with a convenient option to on-site tutoring. The tutors at ScribeTutor work as diagnosticians and strategists to pinpoint the reason for any writing difficulties and help each writer move past their challenges until—ultimately—the Scribe Tutor services are no longer needed. It may be a lousy business model, but it's the right way to teach.
Scribe Tutor's staff are licensed and certified and all have over 10 years of classroom experience (some much more). All forms of writing can be addressed by the tutors and all ages are encouraged to apply for help. Sessions will be held in an online classroom or via a VOIP system such as Skype. This keeps costs low and provides "face-to-face" time between tutor and tutee.
We look forward to helping you be the best writer you can be.
