6th photo from Hex. How can I ever thank him enough. Perhaps if I had gone to the Dot-approved Aden School of Motoring, I would have passed my test in one attempt, not the four it actually took me.

5th contribution from Hex. I suspect Tooting Video Centre may have gone the same way as the VHS cassette. But the 01 on the sign hangs on in there. And that’s the important thing.

Fourth contribution from Hex . I love everything about this shop. Especially the font and colour on the sign, and the cornucopia of musical gadgets on display in the window. Will definitely call in here next time I’m in the area.

Third one from Hex (thanks again). This time it’s the Shah Dental Surgery on Acre Lane in Brixton. Ahhh, the good times I had in Brixton as a younger man. Never went to the dentist there to be honest, but stumbled out of The Dogstar more times than I care to remember.

The second from Hex. Lovely hand-painted sign. Pleasing array of different coloured scooters outside.

The first of 9 (nine!) contributions from roving correspondent Hex, and it’s a good’un. And the fourth carpet retailer to have featured here. Maybe that says something about the business sense of carpet salespeople. Or maybe it says something about the mark-up on carpets. Who knows. It’s still a glorious 01 in blue and yellow.

Oh, what glorious riches! An honest-to-goodness 01, and a telex number! Now that is proper old school. I had to look up what telex numbers are/were. Many thanks to Nik for sending in the photo. And what the hell is in all those barrels?
