hellopanos
Hello, I'm Panos and I have recently found a new home: Athens, Greece.
In the past I have flirted with architecture and interiors. Now my work has lead me to art direction and graphic design. However, labeling what I do is boring. Meticulously experimenting or just having fun playing is what makes it all exciting! Inspiration comes from anything guided by beauty.
People say they like working with me and this may be because I like working with people. This of course is till they scratch my magazine collection...

@Stedelijk anyway. I think it's brave. And such brave decisions are welcome.
-
@Stedelijk well that's better than just not carrying at all! Count me on the "loved it" ones :)
-
@Stedelijk sure! They are great and it's rather refreshing to see something out of "normal" design solutions!

Dieter Ram’s 1976 Speech
In December of 1976, Dieter Rams gave a speech titled “Design by Vitsœ” in New York City about his work with Vitsoe. He also outlined much of his design thinking, which later evolved into his 10 Principles for Good Design.
Vitsoe has released the full transcript of the speech to celebrate Rams’ 80th birthday on May 20th. It’s a must read.

Typogreek
For the past couple of months we have been running a blog on greek vernacular (and all sorts of other) typography. The signs we see on our streets, the warnings, the tags, the goods the bads and sometimes the ugly ones.
Show your love and follow us for updates.
It sure is all greek to you but afterall it’s all about letters!
Where Things Come From

FF Chartwell
Designed by Travis Kochel, FF Chartwell is a fantastic typeface for creating simple graphs. Driven by the frustration of creating graphs within design applications and inspired by typefaces such as FF Beowolf and FF PicLig, Travis saw an opportunity to take advantage of OpenType technology to simplify the process.
Using OpenType features, simple strings of numbers are automatically transformed into charts. The visualized data remains editable, allowing for hassle-free updates and styling.
There is also a nice video on helping you find out how to use this great font.

The Marber Grid
The Marber Grid was developed in 1961 by Polish graphic designer, Romek Marber, for Penguin book covers. This grid layout is admired by many designers and is example of how a well-designed grid can stand the test of time.
