Here’s the amazing Hear Hums long lost interview that we had with Mitchell Myers and Kenzie Cooke in November, 2011.
Listen/buy/download their music on their Bandcamp. Their blog is also worth checking out, which includes interviews of Dustin Wong, Braids, Tree Hopping.
Interview we did with Sayuri after meeting in NY at our show with Dustin Wong and FMLY folks. We answered these questions on the road home from our November tour, totally in a different place now!

Gabriel Berrios moved to Miami “for different reasons, one of the main ones for me was to find out what really was going on this huge city that no one seems to care to much about… Sometimes it seems to me that the thought of something is better than what it actually is. Like when you see a building under construction. The more that’s left to the imagination, the better. Its the same way with Miami—this stale, bright jewel, some sort of luxury, and a very valid connection to my hispanic roots—and so I made these few songs to really explore it.”

Holy hell, the first weekend of March is going to be a doozy. This afternoon saw the schedule announcement for the Innagural voyage of The Gasparilla Music Festival, and now Orlando’s Orange You Glad Festival has thrown their massive schedule out there for your discerning minds as well.
As previously mentioned, OYG is set to take over O-town for four days (five if you count Wednesday’s pre-party with Grimes, Born Gold, and SubAp! fav Michael Parallax), and it’s going to be near impossible to see everything you want to. ++++++++ kassette klub news and feelings +++++++++
Hello transient dream machines! We’re very excited to announce our reissue of Ricky Eat Acid’s floaty ambient masterpiece, Seeing Little Ghosts Everywhere, along with an extra song and Nathaniel Whitcomb’s beautiful handmade art. This hour-long album flows like a continuous piece, foggy and associative; much like the act of trying to recall a distant memory residing on the fuzzy edges of consciousness and instead piecing together something altogether untrue, something too pleasant to have ever been real. These songs avoid the pitfalls of so many contemporary ambient albums that cross my path. Using almost all uneffected instruments recorded to tape these songs bring about an almost tangible warmth. With this cassette release we are hoping to capture that all-too-fleeting feeling and bring it into your life as a physical object.
preorder (ships mid-march)
Also our good friends Hear Hums have a new record out called Opens. It’s huge! A big contender for one of my favorite records of the year so far. Rhythmically hypnotic, impeccably recorded, it’s just as good as the amazing live shows I was able to catch of them last year.
Starting in March our lil store is about to get much more lively. There’s been too many amazing self-released music in our sphere so we’re going to start carrying non-kassette klub albums as well. Starting with hand collaged 7” splits from Lizard Kisses and My Friend Wallis + the debut full length cassette from fellow Bostoner Little Spoon + a much-loved CDR from Magical Mistakes featuring remixes and collabs from some bands on this very label. We’re really excited to have the chance to work with such talented sound-and-art-makers.
All ye Texans and breakfast taco aficionado, kassette klub will be hosting it’s second annual SXSW showcase Saturday 3/17. We just got the space confirmed today so bands are to be announced shortly. Mutual Benefit + Little Spoon will be making their way from Boston to Austin and back via many basements and gallery spaces found here!
Lastly thanks to the Boston Phoenix for including us both in an article about the resurgence of independent labels in Boston and a profile on some of their favorite labels worth checking out. It’s really nice to see print publications truly interested in the underground scenes as well as the bigger stuff.
so much love,
