happy birthday to Trent Reznor.
In 1994, at barely 11 years old I recall shopping in a record store with my dad. I noticed posters for an album that had recently been released called ‘The Downward Spiral’ from a band that I vaguely remember seeing on one of the many grainy 6-hour VHS tapes that dad made daily of Mtv. He bought the CD and I remember digging it out of his collection a few months later. I was intrigued by the presentation of the album. No band photos, just artwork, lyrics and unusual packaging - very atypical of most mainstream releases of that time. At that age, I was unfamiliar with the feelings that comprised the theme but I was intrigued by the intensity and aberrant song structures. Happy birthday. Thank you for all the unique things you’ve created and for sharing them with us. You changed my life.
“I am proud to announce that the tour lineup now includes the incredible Robin Finck. The addition of Robin to the mix of players I’ve assembled makes this band incredibly powerful and versatile. We are deep in the rehearsal process and it feels exciting and great to be back at this. Lots of information, surprises and sweat headed your way. Stay tuned!”
