As it comes to the end of University, I realise I am no longer a student, something I have been for MOST of my life; the end of an era! Although it is sad to say I am no longer a student (no more discounts, lazy days or cheap nights out…), I’m excited to see where the next step in life takes me. I have been lucky enough to have been given the most amazing opportunity which means I will be moving to the beautiful town of Bergamo (Italy) to work for Clarity International. Although it will be strange moving to a new country on my own, I can’t wait to see what it brings to my life, I’m sure it will take some getting used to, but I will keep you all posted on how I’m doing in Italia! I have used this blog for the past few years to keep track on developments in university work, post findings and inspirations, amongst other things, and I hope to keep up this blog; maybe even with my findings on the Italian way of life! So… watch this space! And thanks to anyone who has read my blog in the past!

Here are my final outcomes for the Mouf Music rebrand. MOUf Music is a newly set up company specialising in raising awareness of the Manchester music scene. This includes reviewing gigs/ new releases, interviewing bands, taking photographs of music events, publishing exclusive competitions and even more. Starting up the company is ‘Alan White’ who says the audience is ‘young music enthusiasts with an active grasp on social networking’. The company currently post all content onto social networking sites, but one of his priotities is to have an official website which could be linked to the social networking sites.

Logo – The bright colours suggest vibrant sounds and the shape may be seen as a flower which could be interpreted as the ‘fresh’ music coming out of the Manchester music scene:

I recently tried out a new logo design as I thought the hand drawn and vectored design didn’t fit so well when applied to the website and ipod app. Therefore I am now stuck between designs, please vote below:

After creating the sign in/ menu page on my iPod application designs, I decided I quite liked the symbol the shapes made when all four were brought together. I thought this would also be good for use in the logo possibly, as this symbol could be used on it’s on to represent Mouf Music. Here are the pages that influenced my idea and some logo ideas which I may possibly change to from my current drawn and vectored designs. This design sticks to the colour scheme used throughout and also looks like a flower, which could be interpreted as ‘fresh’ music from the local music scene; Manchester.

On each gig and venue page is a ‘Get Directions’ button which calculates directions to the destination using your current location. This can shown either as a map or as a list of directions.

Here are the settings for the Mouf Music iPod application which would allow you to change the settings for the push notifications. These push notifications would be used to notify you of upcoming gigs, and within the settings you can choose which gigs to be notified of and how often.

Here are the pages of the app which would come under the ‘You’ section of the app. You would first be taken to the menu for the personal part of the app which allows you to view your profile, view your gigs (past and upcoming), view your favourites, reply to inbox messages, view your friends and change app settings. When clicking on a persons profile, you are given an overview of their information, with links to their gigs, favourites, message the user and also to add this user as a friend.

Here are the band pages to my iPod application, which can be sorted by A-Z, Z-A or by Favourites. When clicking on one of the bands, a band profile will load which contains information about the band, upcoming gigs by this band or you can add this band to your ‘favourites’.

Here are the venue pages to my iPod application, which are quite similar to the ‘Gig’ pages. All venues can be displayed as a list or a map, as on the gig page. You can view all venues or view them by ‘closest’ to your current destination. When clicking on one of the venues, you can see the venue information, get directions to the venue, add it to your ‘favourites’ list or view upcoming gigs at this venue.

Here is the ‘Gig’ part of the application which lists all gigs in the Manchester area. This can be viewed either as a list or on a map. When clicking on one of the gigs, you are taken to an information page with more information about the gig. On this page you can also RSVP to the event, view other members attending, view venue details (links to ‘Venue’ part of app) and get directions from your current destination.
