The Empire State Building was struck by lightning 3x yesterday! Another reason why I love living in NYC!

Suspicion confirmed: you can’t get any work done at the office. This is why I avoid unnecessary meetings (especially meetings to discuss the next meeting — seriously?). I think I’m going to promote Talk Less Tuesdays at my office.

So...

I haven’t posted in a while. Been busy. Jumped a few freelance gigs here and there. Speculating future prospects and possible move out of the country. It may not happen, but if it does, we’ll always have tumblr ;)

When I found out I was allergic to muffins, I became obsessed with drawing them.

What’up Tumblr! I know I’ve been away for a while. This is the VW commercial everyone will be buzzing about on Monday.

Website in a Drawer

clientsfromhell:

Client: “I’ve got this website, but could you put it on a CD so my customers can view it easier?”

Me: “They’ll be viewing it on a computer, right?  Do they not have internet?”

Client: “They have internet, but this way if they want to view my material, they can quickly pull the CD out of their desk drawer and put it in the computer.  This way if they want to show other customers my material, they can pass the CD to them.”

Light Dawns on Marblehead

A few weeks back, I posted a rant about wannabe UXers assuming the role of Information Architect on my projects. After a steady campaign of education (mixed a few veiled allusions to impending doom), leadership at my firm have seen the light! I won a big victory for the information architects at my firm by illustrating that what we do is not simply create site maps and wireframes. We shape user experiences and bring order to chaos. We also don’t foist technology on clients without first analyzing the problem. I’m amazed that questions about the validity of IAs and what we do still comes up.

This image (clipped from a friend), sums up my Friday: I’m attacking things like Vader on a rampage!

My new personal motto.

I just love this!

so wrong and grammatically incorrect…
