Skymarker Labs is a venture-backed startup that develops mobile apps (ios and android) and new digital, social experiences on the web, both as standalone businesses and in partnership with major brands and consumer entertainment properties. We focus on powering connections between brands and customers via consumer generated media and social network interactions. Our first proof of concept product was the iphone app WANT! Several other apps and web sites will be introduced with our partners during the first half of 2013.

House Party, Inc. uses its web site (http://houseparty.com), software platform and consumer database to partner with major consumer brands to produce a 60-day viral media event called a “House Party”. The goal of each “House Party” is to activate consumers in support of the introduction or ongoing marketing of a major brand by involving real people – in their actual homes, with their real-world friends and family. Entertainment products, media brands, consumer packaged goods, food & beverage, automotive and a wide range of other entities and advertisers have utilized the House Party solution.

An old friend & industry colleague, Barry Kluger, needs our support on a bill that should have been law a long time ago.
In 2001, Barry lost his only child in a car accident. In 2011, he began the Farley-Kluger Initiative to Amend the Family Medical Leave Act to include loss of a child. Currently, you get 12 weeks unpaid to have a child..2-3 days to bury that child. The week of February 4, Barry and co-author of the bill, Kelly Farley will be meeting in DC with over 35 members of Congress on this effort. The buzz is, a bill WILL be introduced in the Senate AND House for The Parental Bereavement Act aka The Farley-Kluger Initiative.
I ask all of you who either know Barry or have families of your own to go to www.farleykluger.com and support this effort.

Al Pacino as Phil Spector for the David Mamet biopic ..can’t wait.
pacino is way too cool and square-jaw-handsome for spector. not that he cant make it work, but to me spector was not merely flamboyant-weird, but self-loathing about his small chin / not a cool kid weird. sean penn is the zen master of this (falcon & snowman).
