The year 2011 has brought us the 70th Anniversary (7 December 1941) of the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the 10th Anniversary (11 September 2001) of the Attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon & a Field in Pennsylvania!

The four events bring forward in our memories the Two Most Tragic and Horrific Terrorist Attacks on U.S. soil in United States history.

The tribute point this year from the Commandant of the Marine Corps & the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps is the strength of all Marines... INDOMITABLE SPIRIT!

"INDOMITABLE SPIRIT" is the core of the United States Marine Corps and all Marines!

Socrates once said: "Ordinary people seem not to realize that those who really apply themselves in the right way to philosophy are directly and of their own accord preparing themselves for dying and death".

Since 1775, the United States Marines have made the world a safer and better place to live by doing just that.

Since many designer drugs are created in illegal labs, their ingredients and potency (how strong they are) vary a lot, making it nearly impossible to know what is actually in them or what they can do to you. For example, Ecstasy tablets are often contaminated with other things, like ephedrine (used to treat allergies and asthma), ketamine (an injected anesthetic used for surgeries and by animal vets), and drug labs used to make methamphetamine (another illicit drug).

So, the last time you logged into your personal web mail account, did you notice the URL?

Having it bookmarked doesn't mean it's the one you intended...

Did you know (without cheating) that email.yahoo.com redirects you to

https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&.src=ym ?


Or that even a GoDaddy (Very Popular) email like email.godaddy.com redirects the user to

https://login.secureserver.net/index.php?app=wbe&domain=email.godaddy.com ?


What if you tried to login to your normal email and it went to login.secureserver.com (or whatever applies to your emails hosting server)... Would you notice?

A most popular choice is Google Mail.

Did you know that Google's Gmail.com redirects you to

That is quite the URL!

So, I would bet that nobody would notice if it was slightly different, assuming the page looked the same.
Recently, this actually happened proving that even one of the biggest internet companies in the world can fall victim to determined hackers.

Google's email service was chosen for a 'phishing' scam.

Phishing is a type of attack where the hackers steal usernames and passwords from unsuspecting users by using a different login page that looks like the one you think you're on, only the fake web page captures your credentials and then redirects you to the real site.
Then, the hackers can access your account unknowingly to you and read through your every email.

The attack seemed to have targeted US government officials in an attempt to gather Google trade secrets and government information in light of the recent battle Google has had with the Chinese government. As stated in the article, all affected users have been contacted, but even the biggest, most trusted names on the internet are open to attacks.

Therefore, be mindful of the sites you're visiting and pay attention to the URLs and where you're being redirected.

With the internet being so open and everyone sharing their information online, it's easy to be a victim of an attack.

You might not be a government official, but I bet you have bank statements, family functions, and even information about other accounts in your inbox...

HAPPY 234th BIRTHDAY, MARINES!
Greetings and Salutations to all,

It is that wonderful time of year again (10 November), where ALL MARINES, current and former look around for a fellow Marine to say... HAPPY 234th BIRTHDAY, DEVIL DOG!!

Since 1775, the United States Marines have made the world a safer and better place to live.

There are so many, but I wished to share some of my favorite quotes about the United States Marines...

** President Ronald Reagan said in 1985,
>> Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem!

** RAdm."Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995 said,
>> Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

** Karen Aquilar, in the U.S. Embassy; Mogadishu, Somalia, 1991 said,

As a final note, in history, as always there is a war on somewhere in the world and the United States Marines are always there to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

SEMPER FIDELIS or Semper Fi as it has come to be known, is the Marines motto and it means "Always Faithful"! I have always believed it to be true.

SEMPER FI... is a Way of Life!!

I also wish to say Thank You to them for their sacrifice and eternal dedication to "DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY".

As to our other serviceman & woman, I also send best wishes for a safe tour and GODSPEED home to your families.
