Given enough time to ponder the implications of Osama's death. How do you feel about it, how did you feel, if you felt anything at all?
here's what i said to someone via text right after it happened:
"after digesting it for a day here's what i think of the bin ladin thing: relief that he's gone. Understandable the fan fare that people are having over it but still think all the partying in the streets is a bit much (imagery of Islamic people's burning US flags comes to mind). not sure if we should be so "AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!" when it took us 10 years, thousands of soldiers, and billions of dollars later to find one guy. Throw enough time, money, and people at anything and it's just an eventuality that we accomplish it. And all it amounts to in the war on terror is that we chopped off one particularly large head from the Hydra. Can we leave the middle east, get back our civil liberties, and pull our economy out of the toilet now? No? Fantastic.."
my feelings now are pretty much the same.
