Elizabeth Shain is a board-certified music therapist in the Kansas City Metro area. She completed her MME at the University of Kansas in May of 2011 and completed research with children ages 5-12 in an acute psychiatric unit of a University hospital. Elizabeth has a passion for Orff music therapy and all things mental health! She also completed Neurologic Music Therapy Training in 2007 and presented at 2009 and 2010 MW Regional Music Therapy Conferences. She has also participated in government relations, and advocacy for the profession.

Elizabeth has worked in a variety of settings, including: medical (pediatrics, oncology, bone marrow transplant), psychiatric, early intervention, private practice, and neurologic rehabilitation. She has worked with all ages and has gained experience in brief therapy and trauma informed approaches.

Provide direct clinical services to residents of Synergy's Transitional Living Program
Facilitate music therapy groups and provide individual therapy for Synergy House, a Synergy facility which provides short-term emergency shelter for youth in crisis, including homeless, runaway, abused and neglected youth ages 12 to 18.
