1 . Glogster Edu is my favorite tool and I am proud to be a Ambassador because this edu tool open gateway through knowledge for students because develop children's creativity and innovation . Glogster EDU is the leading global education platform for the creative expression of knowledge and skills in the classroom and beyond. GlogsterEdu empower educators and students with the technology to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters - with text, photos, videos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments and more.
Features
Glog Creation Interface A Glog is created using a very easy to understand, drag and drop interface that is relevant, enjoyable, and scalable for students of all ages and learning styles. A Glog is an interactive visual platform in which users create a “poster or web page” containing multimedia elements including: text, audio, video, images, graphics, drawings, and data.
Create Curriculum Based Projects for Classes, Groups, Teams, or Individuals The teacher can work with students in a classroom or through remote instruction using this multimedia platform – a community system for sharing is prepared where student‘s work is stored and available at any time. The teacher creates projects with templates and instructional guidelines, assigns them to the students, provides feedback throughout the assignment, and assesses their finished work.
Glog Presentations! Share student or teacher projects in Class, School, District or Beyond Once projects are complete, the teacher can share students’ work in a variety of educational settings. Glogs can be embedded in a blog, wiki, or web page or shared with others using Glogster EDU’s innovative presentation capabilities. Choose exemplar student projects and demonstrate students’ achievements with parents, administrators, students, and other educators.
Private and Safe Learning Environment for Teachers and Students The teacher easily creates a private virtual classroom with students by registering for a teacher administered account, generating student accounts with safe logins and passwords, and monitoring all activities within the account throughout the learning process. Student accounts can be created without providing email addresses or other contact information. The Teacher’s Dashboard provides direct access to all students, projects, and other activities.
Single Multi-Subject and Class Dashboards for Teachers and Students with One Login and Password All educators utilizing Glogster EDU’s inventive platform have direct access to individual students through a single portal – the Teacher Dashboard. Not only can teachers see all student activity within their own Teacher Dashboard, each student can also easily view and manage all of their classes and projects within their Student Dashboard. A single login and password will provide each teacher and student with complete access to multiple classroom activities. In the near future, Administrators will have a unique, secure login access for monitoring entire district or state-level Glogster EDU activities.

5.thepitch is a html5 startup tool to Discover a new way to present and share content .Thepit.ch building an HTML5 tool for creating presentations, presenting, and sharing them with people, all in one seamless experience. They are re-imagining creating, giving and sharing presentations for the web enabled world. Our app starts where Slideshare and others stopped by giving viewer access anywhere the web is available - desktops, tablets, phones etc.People tell stories and share information with one another countless times a day. A common example of that is at conferences and events, where speakers share valuable knowledge and insight with an audience, typically aided by a deck of slides . Online slides can convey a confusing, conflicting or simply incomplete message. They may show an example without explaining what’s good or bad about it, or a clean visual that supports a point but doesn’t make it.The better the talk or presentation, the cleaner and simpler the slides — and the more the slides depend on the narrative around them to be of value.
Slides alone are rarely the full product; they serve a complementary purpose to the talk being given by the speaker. When slides are shared online, the speaker is absent, and the story is missing.
Without that narrative, we lose context and value. Audio and video help, but are costly to produce in a way that provides great value, and the experience often ends up feeling disjointed.
Between Powerpoint, Keynote and OpenOffice, there are at least 75 million desktop users of presentation software, although that is a conservative estimate. In addition to desktop software users, there are upwards of 20 million people using cloud-based software of some sort to present or share their presentations Of all users combined, more than half are paying customers. A large share of that is Enterprise customers, from small businesses to the very largest corporations in the world. The presentation software market is huge, and a number of companies compete for a share of it. But none have a great end-to-end experience, and most don’t even offer a great experience on any level. There is a huge opportunity for a great end-to-end experience to reshape this market. From the moment you start putting a deck together to the point where you share it with others, however you do so, the experience can be significantly improved.
Presentation software, like every other productivity software, suffers from a “binary proposition” problem: feature bloat makes the interface overwhelming, but simplification often reduces value to experienced users. We have a solution.
Whether we want to share our slides with the public or a limited, private audience, the only way we can do so without the slides losing value is through an expensive, time-consuming, carefully edited video. Our sharing platform solves that problem.
PDFs can be accessible, but rarely are so. By creating slides in a semantic, highly accessible structure right in the browser, we can offer content in ways that can be read on all devices, everywhere
Early-stage business models shouldn’t be set in stone, but we have solid ideas about ours. We also believe that the ability to “try before you buy” is critical on the Web.
Thanks to being a fully web-based product, the only things needed to give our product a try are a modern browser and an Internet connection.
Being able to create a deck for free, without even signing up, gives us a chance to showcase our innovative UI and workflow. Free accounts let you save that work and present it to an audience, but you’ll have limited storage ability.
Paid accounts will come in one, two or three flavors, depending on research we will conduct during private alpha and beta periods. Features, control over ads and more will be offered accordingly.
Present.me startup to record, share presentations like never before.
According to Microsoft, 500 million PowerPoint users give 30 million presentations every working day. That’s either scary or great – depending on your perspective. But either way, there’s a problem out there. Whatever your content, whether its slides, images, graphs or photos, If you’ve got something to say about it, and we can’t be in the same place as you, at the same time, you’ve got a problem. So what are your choices?
You can email your slides, but without being able to see and hear you, I’m not going to get anything like the full story. How about a webinar, or a teleconference? Better, but I still can't see you. OK, a videoconference then? Getting there, but cost is going up now, and crucially, all the above require all the participants to be there at the same time, often a diary nightmare.
What if you could video the presentation and edit the recording together with your slides or images, so that I can watch you talking to your slides, in one place at my own convenience? Well, you can. There are a number of desktop applications, and a few online tools, but they tend to be relatively complex, difficult to use, and they don't come cheap. Result - most people don't have the time, energy or inclination.
The gap is all too clear - a simple, easy to use, low cost application that allows you to record your presentation and then, by splitting the screen, show you and your slides at the same time, in the same place, enabling you to share the results online with whomever you want. That's Present.Me – and that’s exactly what it does!
Simply upload your slides, images, graphs, photos – whatever your content, in either powerpoint or pdf format. Once the content has been converted, which takes no time, and you’re ready to go, you head to the record queue, click ‘record’ and off you go! Present into your webcam clicking the slides as you would if you were presenting to an audience. Don’t worry about having to remember everything in one go or making a mistake. There’s a really simple self editing function.
Once you’re finished click ‘publish’! And presentme does the rest, editing everything together in real time. Once you’re happy with your performance, you can share it, either publicly or privately, embed it or just keep it for yourself as a reminder of what you’re supposed to say.
Alongside the ability to record and share your presentations, we have posted a number of presentme’s setting out our experience & knowledge around creating inspirational presentations, which we hope will put another nail in the coffin of ‘death by PowerPoint’.
Great presentations take a lot of hard work – why restrict their impact simply to those who “made it on the day”. But don’t think present.me is just about formal presentations. There are loads of situations where you’ve got something to say about a graph, an image, a diagram, a photo, a sentence in a document – and it will be more effective for someone to see and hear you, than to read a longemail. Present.Me is a fantastic new communication tool - So what are you waiting for? Have a go - it's FREE!

SlideDog lets you present files seamlessly and professionally at Meetings, Events, Sales Presentations, Conferences, Lectures
Create playlists of presentations
With SlideDog you can use playlists to play multiple slide shows one after the other. You can also add other files and media such as videos, web pages, Prezi presentations, spreadsheets and documents. A playlist can be saved to disk for easy playback at a later time. Each playlist may have a background image associated with it. This image will be shown in between presentations and may act as a pause-image for your meeting or other event.
Mix web pages, different files and media in the playlist
SlideDog supports a lot of different file formats. You can add PowerPoints, PDFs, Videos, Prezi presentations, web pages, excel spreadsheets, word documents, flash animations and all kinds of images. These files will be played using the best tools available. Some of the files can be played directly, while others will be launched by an external application E.g. Office PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer is used for showing PowerPoint files, but it will seem like they are directly played by SlideDog.
Switch between files seamlessly
SlideDog will launch the files in the playlist in fullscreen without displaying the computer desktop or application specific loading screens to the viewers. This enables a smooth transition between speakers (if used at an event with several speakers) and files (if used by one presenter alone).
Use a presenter screen with notes, timers and playlists
SlideDog uses a PowerPoint like multi-monitor output to provide meta information to the speaker during the presentation. It is able to show a normal presentation window on one screen, while showing a more sophisticated overview on the other one providing information like thumbnails of the next slides, slide notes and timers. The two timers show time spent on the current file and total time since the playlist started.
Reel helps you quickly create and share presentations. Each preso is stored online behind a unique URL, making it easy to poll your audience for their impressions.
But I already have Powerpoint; why would I need another presentation tool?
You have Powerpoint, but that doesn’t mean everyone else does too! With tablets, smartphones and internet access everywhere, you can’t rely on everyone being able to view a PPT. Reel solves this by posting your preso behind a unique URL. Your audience only needs a web browser to view your preso where and when they are ready. Best of all, your audience won't have to wait for a file download or open any other software.
That’s neat! You said something about feedback too?
Yes, we did! Once you’ve got your audience on the hook, they’ll be able to give you their impression of your ideas. Thumbs up for the ones they love; thumbs down, they’re not feelin’ it. You’ll get a summary page showing the total number of responses to each slide.
What should I share?
That depends on you! Whether you're sharing mockups with clients, product ideas with team members, or fiscal numbers with colleagues, Reel is a great way to make sure your team is on the same page, fast.
BrinkPad is a web application that brings a desktop experience to the web. The application allows you to create presentations / slide shows / drawings with easy to use web delivered software.

I was pleased to see that my project, eSafety4eTwinners - Web 2.0 and social media use eTwinners to prevent school dropout "was accepted in the exhibition Innovators Forum in Education organized by Microsoft, Romanian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and EOS Foundation .So I was participated in Brasov, Aro Palace Hotel on 1 - 2 March 2012 Innovators Forum in Education which was held in conjunction with the Meeting of National Education MECTS and so our projects have been visited in the Exhibition, and appreciated by general inspectors and other inspectors who were present at the event. In this special event experts have shared us the latest news in the Microsoft field. Thus I learned that Microsoft has released a new platform for Microsoft Partners in Learning http://www.pil-network.com/ Network with many facilities for teachers worldwide, and Microsoft experts showed us the new Microsoft tablets of 12 and 10 inches and showed us some features offered by Windows 8 touch version that was released a few days ago. We also had a video conference at the event with Adina Popa from a Patfinder American school who organized # globaled11 . Also during this session and headteachers of Mentor and Patfinder schools from Romania have explained us the benefits obtained as innovative schools.
The two projects who will represent Romania in Lisbon on 25 March at the European Forum are: ,, Natural Resources "- Secondary School Nr. Galati 29 selected by the jury on the 1st place and ,, The story of a sheet of paper" - School grades I-VIII Panticeu, Cluj selected by public vote. I am also proud that the project in our county,, traditional houses Severin "coordinated by Mr. Tudor Deaconu and Remus got a deserved 3 place .

Safer Internet Day is organised by Insafe each year in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. This year, Safer Internet Day (SID) will take place on Tuesday 7 February 2012 and will be centred around the theme Connecting generations and educating each other, with the slogan: "Discover the digital world together... safely!" About Connecting Generations This topic looks at the reach of the online world across all generations and cultures and encourages families to work together to stay safe online. Whether you are 5, 40 or 75 years old, whether you use the internet once a month or several times a day - each person has something different to bring to the table that can help shape our online experiences and our understanding of online competences and safety. We all have a role to play in ensuring that every child is safe online. Today our offline and online worlds are strongly connected, from families communicating via webcam with relatives and friends abroad to children doing their homework online. The online world is a unique arena where people of all ages can learn together and from each other, especially regarding online safety. Tech savvy youngsters can teach their elders how to use new technologies, while grandparents can draw on their life experiences to advise younger generations on how to stay safe online, as they discover the digital world together. How to take part? Visit saferinternetday.org for more information and to download SID promotional materials and resources

Curation is Social Media King
I launch this project because Curation is the Social Media King and Next Big Thing still 2011 around the social web and social media curation tools are the gateway through semantic web 3.0 in #education20 and for this reason I invite teachers and researchers worldwide to join free this global project .
Curation is King of Knowledge in Social Media and the Art of : searching, selecting, sharing/bookmarking , tagging, organizing, interaction, communication . Steve Rosenbaum describe in his book Curation : (p 3-4) Curation is about adding value from humans … Curation is very much the core shift in commerce, editorial, and communities that require highly qualified humans. Humans aren’t extra, or special, or enhancements; humans arecurators. They do what no computer can possibly achieve.
(p 12-13) No longer is the algorithm in charge. Human curators have become essential software. What emerges is new human and computer collaboration … The important news of the emergence of a Curation Nation is that humans are very much back in charge. The Internet Curator's role is to seek on the web information related to a specific domain, filter them, select them, organise, share and present them in a unique way.
Now, if you have done any of that work before, you should know that doing so has many benefits, but is also very time consuming. I mean, you can always scour your friends blogs, do a search, visit news sites or other trusted sources available to you. But then, there is the matter of putting them all together, by copying and pasting, editing, among other things.
In essence, you choose a topic, research for the best articles out there, combine them into a post, publish, and share it to the world. That’s curating content!
My favorite tool for presentation and curation is GlogsterEDU
In short, with Scoop.it you share content with people who are likely to find it relevant. Scoop.it enables to share things you would not normally share on other social Medias. Sometimes you find that it’s too risky to share links with your family, your colleagues or old classmates. They will also not necessarily be very interested in your passions. And above all, the information that you will find relevant, will not be lost in the middle of thousand other posts. And if you are a little bit curious (we are all), you will read the content on topics curated by other users who share the same interest, and you will comment their links.
2.Themeefy ia a cool new way to discover, curate, compile and publish knowledge to create your personal Theme magazine or online book . PS if you want a invitation leave a comment with your email and I will invite you to join the MAG . You must follow next steps to make a Themeefy mag . Research web sites and add interesting links directly from the Web. Upload photos, jot down notes and add a personal touch to your magazine. Pull in interesting social content from Twitter and Facebook. Customize the Theme magazine, publish it and share it . My first Online book is Curation Social Media King You can read more here about this new startup curation tool .
4.SymbalooEdu a great resource for teachers. With Symbaloo you can: Gather the best content on the web about 1 topic, and present it on a webmix Share a webmix with other teachers, and students Discover useful webmixes in the Symbaloo Gallery to use in the classroom Share a webmix with parents to provide some insight of the used materials A worthy mention: Symbaloo is free of charge and doesn’t include any annoying ads.
At Bottlenose they we're building a new social assistance application that helps you do just that. It helps navigate the depths of your networks and keep up with your social streams so you can engage more intelligently. But that's just the beginning: Bottlenose helps you hunt for what interests you, alerts you when something deserves your attention, and even helps you share and communicate more productively.
7. Pearltrees is one of my favorite social media curation tools . Why use Pearltrees ?To cultivate your interests. Pearltrees is a place to organize discover and share everything you like on the web. You can keep at hand the web pages you like and enrich your account with Pearltrees from other members of the community. Who is Pearltrees made for ? Anybody who has ever wanted to keep a webpage (about a favorite movie, for researching travel, for conducting research or just because there are things you've found that you don't want to lose...) to retrieve it one day or to share it with someone. This means a lot of people!
8. BagTheWeb helps users curate Web content. For any topic, you can create a "bag" to collect, publish, and share any content from the Web. Beyond most curation tools' capability, BagTheWeb enables users to build networks of bags. Via bags, users can collect, publish, and share curated Web content in a simple and exciting way. Web content forms content networks, users form social networks, and content and social networks further connect. This way bags can be linked together to provide rich and complete information about any topic. For this reason Bag the Web an evolving Web. For Teachers Collect teaching materials. Create bags for students to study and assign homework.
9. Storify is a curation social media tool to make awesome story and t urn what people post on social media into compelling stories. Collect the best photos, video, tweets and you can also add text and embed the resulting collages of content on your own site or blog
I am still last year aPLaNet associate partener and also I will be a mentor in this project and I made a group Curation Social Media King for Mentors http://aplanet-project.org/group/curation-social-media-king?xg_source=activity . Now I am verry happy because finally was released aPLaNet teacher guide . After I read the guide I am sure that this project will open gateway to knowledge for teachers worldwide and if you are agree with me leave a comment .
Also still this year I invite to visit weekly this blog because I will explain every week gr8 tools and apps useful for XXI Century Education .
The aPLaNet Project http://aplanet-project.org/
Do you use social networks like Facebook, Twitter & Nings?
Do you use them for personal reasons, to keep in touch with friends and family or for professional reasons?
Do you think social networks such as these can contribute to your own professional development?
These are some of the questions we will be asking hundreds of foreign language educators - and we hope you will be one of them - to find out their attitudes to using Social Networking sites to create and build their PLN, in other words, their Personal Learning Network
During the two years of the aPLaNet project, we will be collaborating with our partner institutions to create support and resources which will help foreign
language teachers in Europe to understand and use social network in order to:
Build and expand their PLN by connecting with educators on Facebook, Twitter & Nings
Continue with their professional development in an autonomous way
Acquire the skills and digital literacies required in order to use these mediums successfully and productively

About
#edtech20 free project http://central.ly/web20education/ is extended of the project ,, Teach, learn, play in 21st Century using web 2.0, social media used in an e-Safe way in education 2.0 " who was selected finalist project in ELEARNING AWARDS 2010 , runner up in the cathegory ENISA silver award for teaching online safety and citizenship .

4. How to introduce Internet safety issue via the discovery of free virtual worlds , Second Life.
I belive that new technologies web 2.0 and social media can open gateway to knowledge for teachers worldwide and for this reason curation tools will prepare the appearance of semantic web 3.0 in XXI Century Education and I http://gplus.to/LucianDumaTeacherCurator made on #edtech20 circle on google plus ( the new tool who prepaire the introduction of new web in #education20 ) . I wish in the future to make a big platform where teachers worldwide can discuss how they can integrate efficiently new technologies in #education20 , but for this we need help and founds and I hope toghether to bring edreform .
Curation has always been an underrated form of creation and it is generally the selection of, care for and presentation of the objects entered into a collection, whether that collection is physical (such as items in a museum) , digital (such as entries in Wikipedia) . Today I use gr8 curation tools many in beta for curating social media ( tools, apps, articles , blog posts , tweets , videos , photos and much more ) like scoop.it , perltrees , postano , shareist , storify , chirpstory , curated.by and bagtheweb .
My favorite are 4 scoop.it , pearltrees , postano , shareist, but every day appear new curation tools who prepair the aparition of Semantic Web who is driving the evolution of the current Web by enabling users to find, share, and combine information more easily . For example delicious tool is a kind of curation, but this new curation tools allows your readers to add comments and suggestion for evry post .
The emphasis of curation may vary among:
The selection process - such as the use of expertise or expert advice to decide what items or content should be added to a collection or archive.
The caretaking process - controlling the decay of historical object (such as census records) .
Presentation - determining how objects or records are displayed, including what metadata will be displayed along with them.
2011 is the begining of New Era of Curation and every day appear new awesome social media curation tools like write Mashable in the article 4 Promising Curation Tools That Help Make Sense of the web . When I read Mashable's article I allready used Pearltrees http://pearltrees.com/#/web20education and after I made #edtech20 team on pearltrees . When Tim Berners Lee originally conceived of the Internet, he envisioned three principal functions and I think that is curation
Allow anyone to access any type of document
Allow everyone to disseminate his or her own documents
Allow everyone to organize the entire collection of documents
Brian Solis write also in his website about curation and curators who play an important role in the evolution of new media, the reach of material information, and the social nicheworks that unite as a result. Curators promote interaction, collaboration, as well as education around the topics that are important to them. As such, services that empower curators will fill the void between creation and consumption. Forrester’s estimation of consumers of social content will erode from 70% to much lower numbers as many ease into social networking through curation – sharing with others the content that captivates their attention. The ease of doing so forever converts the static consumer into a productive curator or perhaps one day, a full fledged creator.
With creation and curation increasing the exchange of information commerce, we are moving new media toward the mainstream creating bridges between social and traditional media and the people who connect around related information. As such, what you discover and equally what you share creates an information economy rich with contextual and topical relevance linked through shared experiences.
Work process
I want to collaborate in #edtech20 project with teachers worldwide and to discuss about new tools and apps web 2.0 , social media , and semantic web 3.0 . We will discover toghether how to use many edtools , apps and widgets related to mlearning, wikis , blogs , microblogs , social networking , news readers and news agregators , animation , cloud words , online communities , on-line web conferencing , chats and webinars , bookmarking , sharing using videos , photos , interactive presentations , documents , podcast and audio . I am in the top scoop.it curators ( 50 000 visitors on my topics )and for this reason I made a scoopit curation topic and also a blog for my favorite topics .

I am in the top scoop.it curators ( 30 000 visitors on my topics )and for this reason I made a scoopit curation topic and also a blog for my favorite topics

Primary Pad is a web-based word processor which promotes collaborative learning. It is designed for schools allowing teachers and pupils to work on a pad at the same time. Pads can be public or shared only within schools and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. This allows for collaborative learning to continue outside of school
1. Wallwisher is the first edtool used for stiky note . You can post photos , videos , links and more in a wall .
Wallwisher's janitor has a post-it overuse problem. He uses post-its as reminders, coasters, bookmarks, wrappers for used gum, to-do list managers, memos. So he decided to have some post-its for the web. SharedCopy, a startup that dealt with adding notes to web pages, therefore, came as a natural choice for the janitor's December internship. It was there that the janitor came up with the idea for using a sticky-note/noticeboard interface for communicating on the web. How is Wallwisher built?
Here you can see a wall made by me for Lisa because today was her BIRTHDAY and teachers woldwide wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY @teachingwthsoul
Getting ideas, collaborating, sharing and quickly posting pieces of information when working in a group or collaborative environment.
Why is PrimaryWall better than any other web based sticky note platform
PrimaryWall was concieved by a teacher and is built for schools so we kept things simple, fast and user friendly.

Because I write in my blog about new edtools and apps today I want to show you a presentation made by me related to European Union , EU educational projects and programes and Roamania in European Union and I appreciate your comments and feedback .
For this reason I develop with my students many religious projects and I want to present you a glogsteredu after International Contest ,, Ressurection of Son of God and the Renaissance of whole making " organized in International Project ,, Different, but Equal " and please add your feedback and comments here .
Also we collaborate with Dr Teresa Fernandes from Lisbon, Portugal in eTwinning project ,, Jesus Christ our Passover Lamb was sacrified for us . "
What is Passover What is Easter? For some of our students the season is often above all associated with eating chocolate eggs/ bunnies or sugared almonds . At family gatherings, when relatives or friends refer to the First Passover in Egypt, to The Last Supper, to The Gethsemane Conflicts, or even to Jesus’ Trials, Death, Resurrection or Ascension, these youngsters have sometimes difficulty in following the reasoning .Well known films like The Prince of Egypt or The Passion act sometimes as mediators of meaning, so that young people may fit into the context of such conversations … This central information is clarified by bringing together several episodes in the Old and New Testament: for example Isaac saved from death by the lamb graciously provided by God; the firstborns of the Israelites saved in Egypt by the blood of the perfect lamb put as mark in the doors of their houses to keep death away; Jesus announced by John the Baptist as the unique, perfect, innocent Lamb approved by God; the vicarious Death and Resurrection of Christ to draw every sin and everyman unto Himself; Jesus, the Lamb of God, ascending and glorified in heaven, sitting on the throne as Ruler over rulers. All these point to the central importance of the Lamb both for the Jews ( Passover ) and for the Christians ( Easter ) as substitute and deliverer, both taking the place of people and rescuing them from physical / spiritual death, and conquering eternal life for the redeemed and becoming advocate and judge Himself. How many of our students know that the fact that a Lamb/young sheep is still preferred course in the Easter menu in many European countries had its origin in the first Passover in Egypt, about three thousand years ago? Also the instruction in the Old Testament that the High Priest was allowed to present himself only once in a year before God in the Holy of Holies contrasts with the fact that in the New Testament we read the curtain of the temple was suddenly torn as Jesus died, meaning with that that the communication with God was now open to personal relationship for everyone interested in having it . How many of them know that in the Old Testament the High Priest had to confess his sins and the people’s sins over the scapegoat as prerequisite to enter the Holy of Holies, and only after that could he send the substitution scapegoat to the desert to die in the place of the people - a type of Jesus in the New Testament, who took over Himself all the people’s sins and because of them was severely punished and put to death.

,, Web 2.0 and social media can bring a new dimension and can reform education worldwide because electronic communication helps teachers and students to learn from each other. These new tehnologies can stimulate discussion, open gateway through knowledge, promote creativity and innovation for effective learning. Teacher and also students should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all times. Pulling Piaget and Papert , the use of participatory media tools in education is typically geared towards, creating a more student centered, adaptive environnement where learners can contribute to the course material, formulate and express their own insights and opinion, construct their own understanding of material by connecting concepts, to personal experience or current events, and learn from one another in collaborative environments . StudyShuffle moves your students' homework from the bottoms of their backpacks to the internet, just a click away from Facebook!
Features
Intuitive Card Editor
Use StudyShuffle's simple WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) card editor to design cards which clearly and succinctly display the material your students need to succeed in class. It's as easy as writing an email! Teachers can use various formatting features and even add images to their cards.
Multiple Assessment Methods
Choose from three different methods of assessment. You can allow students to self-assess, use a timed multiple choice option, or quiz students wth a timed prompt which asks them to type in the response to each card themselves. If a particular assessment method isn't working well, change it at any time!
Track Students' Progress
See how often your students are using StudyShuffle and whether they're up-to-date with their cards. Decide the best time to quiz material in class and discover which topics your students need help with.
Spaced Repetition Algorithm
Academic research on memory has found that information is best learned when students are quizzed on material right before they would have forgotten it. StudyShuffle implements a spaced repetition algorithm to determine when best to present material to students. Material is never completely done being studied; it's only presented less frequently. Pegby is a startup tool Peg it up, Move it Around, Get it Done.
Come to the board with friends, family and/or coworkers and get stuff done. Make your plans by pegging up cards to your board or boards. It's simple and fun.
Features
The Board.
It became a catch phrase across Skype as they built Pegby: let's go to the Board. Using an unlimited number of Boards, you can collaborate with friends, family, co-workers and even strangers...if you like that sort of thing.
The Column.
We've seen boards with twentyColumns, which is no big deal for Pegby. With sweet minimization and drag and drop capability, create as many Columns as you'd like but focus on the ones that matter to you in the moment.
The Card.
Pegby began with the Card. Pegby's core strength and flexibility comes from the simple, good-naturedCard. Double-click to add a title. Double-click to add a description. Assign it to yourself or your friend. Drag it around. Push it off. Heck, throw a little color on it.
The Stack.
Ah, the Stack, the must have and most often used feature. Simply drag and drop a Card onto anotherCard and a Stack you have made. It doesn't stop there. You can minimize Stacks and drag them too! A personal favorite, dropping aStack on a minimized Column.
The Invite.
Pegby is useful to one, but it becomes even more integral to daily life when it is shared with others. It's true with Pegby: the more you share, the easier it is to get stuff done. Don't take our word for it, Invite someone to yourBoard.
The Filter.
Your Board is a bit too full? Too many friends? Too many Stacks? No matter how hard we try, we are human, and we like to make lots and lots of Cards. So, Filter yourBoard. Filter to focus. Tag something and take it for a spin.

MyStickies, a web-based application gives you the ability to put a sticky note on any web page your browser can visit. When you come back to the page, your sticky note is still there, where you left it. This enables us to remember what was important about the page to us.
A part of the MyStickies service is an account area where you can go to quickly view all the notes you have placed. You can modify the text of the notes from there or delete old notes no longer needed. The account allows you to review your notes, go back to the sites you have "stickied," and otherwise manage your notes.
Sticky Pages
MyStickies also gives each account an unlimited number of Sticky Pages. These are blank pages except for a title which you choose, which you may place your notes on. They are a scratch pad for you to organize thoughts, keep to-do lists, or write reminders to yourself. If you need a place to put a note, and you don't want to clutter up any web-pages, Sticky Pages are the place to go.
MyStickies Tags
Tags are a relativly new, and extremely useful way of organizing your stuff. The basic idea is that you can add any number of descriptive categories to a note and then view notes in those categories later. To add a tag to a note you just click on the note, then click on the add tag button.
The Future of MyStickies
MyStickies currently is planning and has in the works support for multilingual notes, browser extensions for Internet Explorer and Safari, sharing tags' notes and individual notes with friends, rich text notes (bold, italics, and links) and some form of public notes.

HOWTO: Get the most from Sprint.ly’s dashboard
Introduction
Sprint.ly’s dashboard is the main entry point to the product. It consists of three main features: a Kanban board, a cadence graph, and a focus graph. These three features give everyone a 5,000 foot view of where the product sits.
The Kanban Board
The Kanban board is comprised of four columns for each phase of a ticket’s life: Backlog, In-Progress, Complete, and Accepted. Items move left to right through the board as they progress through their lifecycle.Item cards on the Kanban board can be prioritized by dragging them up or down within a single column or they can be moved left/right to push a ticket backwards or forward in the lifecycle. You’ll notice that the Accepted column is always empty. Once and item is done it disappears from the board entirely. You can always get back to a complete list of your accepted items by clicking on the link in the middle of the Accepted column’s drop area.
The Focus Graph
Above the Kanban board are two sets of graphs. The pie charts to the left are what we call the focus graph. There is a pie chart for each of the four phases of a ticket’s life: Backlog, In-Progress, Complete, and Accepted. Above each pie chart is a total number of items in each phase. Each pie chart is broken down into four slices by item type. The In-Progress and Complete charts of are particular importance as they show what type of work your teams are currently focused on. For instance, if the CEO says that quality should be the main focus for the time being, you’d expect there to be more red than green in the In-Progress and Complete pie charts while the team flushes bugs from the queue.
The Cadence Graph
To the right of the focus graph, also above the Kanban board, is a stacked bar graph, which we call the cadence graph. This is a running window into how many items your team has marked as Complete in the last week.
The bar graph is stacked by item type so you can get a feel of where your team was focused on any given day. More red means they were focused on bugs that day, while more green would indicate they were focused on adding features.
Conclusion
The Sprint.ly dashboard is your window into the general focus and cadence of your product. Was designed it specifically for non-technical people to use in the hopes that we can demystify what the technical team is doing and how progress is going.

Duolingo builds a world with free education and no language barriers. Users are able to learn languages for free, while simultaneously translating the Web. They started Duolingo by allowing English speakers to learn Spanish and German. As of this week, Spanish speakers can now learn English, and they expect to have French in April. There have been literally thousands of requests for other languages — Duolingo team working hard to add them, but it may take us a few months. In conclusion The Duolingo Website and Service allows users to learn or practice a language while they translate content from the Web. Users are presented with different types of educational activities; while they perform these activities, they also generate valuable data such as translations of Web content. For those of you still waiting for an invitation, Duolingo have started inviting people faster and for this reason you should join .

Here you can read how to create a magazine with Jilster, step by step.
The chief editor starts
To start creating a magazine, first, you need to register (for free). After you have created a magazine, you have access to the newsroom of your own magazine. Now you are the chief editor.
Assemble a team of editors
As a chief editor, you can invite your friends, colleagues, or family members to participate in making the magazine. You do this by sending them an e-mail through Jilster. You will automatically see how this works in the newsroom. These people will receive your e-mail, containing a link that provides access to the newsroom. At first, they are invited to fill one page in the magazine with their contribution.
Competencies of the (chief)editors
After they have accepted the invitation, you can click one of the editors and assign multiple pages to this person, or make him a chief editor too. A (co)chief editor can edit and view all the pages, an editor can only view the page(s) assigned to him by the chief editor. The cover can only be created by a (co)chief editor.
Communicate through the ´shoutbox´
The members of the editorial team can always communicate with each other with the ´shoutbox´. So you do not need to confer with each other by e-mail.
Layout of the pages
You can design the pages entirely according to your own taste. To get started, you can use the sample pages (under 'templates'). You can change these and design them just like you want. Text from Word can be spread out over one or more columns. Also, you can vary the fonts and colors. You can upload your own images from your computer. And you can scan, upload and post old photos, handwritten letters, comics, or childrens' drawings. If you have created a page in InDesign, for example, you can upload this page as a PDF file.
Hand in the pages to the chief editor
You can regularly save your pages during the creative process. And continue editing them at a later stage. If an editor is satisfied with his page, he can hand in the page to the chief editor, by using the ´hand in´ button. After that, only a (co)chief editor can modify this page later on.
Browse a free edition
After you and your editorial team have filled eight pages, you (as a chief editor) can browse through an online edition of your own magazine. You can also invite others to view your magazine.
Now on Photopeach You can easily create multiple Student accounts without email addresses. Students do not have access to alter or delete your account. Easily organize projects with tags and publish them as public pages to share with parents and the community. Your student’s work will not appear among published content on PhotoPeach by default.
Download unlimited shows in burnable DVD (.iso) Format and High Quality Digital Video (.mpeg) format for sharing online Upload your own .mp3 music files to customize your slideshow soundtracks Create unlimited photo albums, and unlimited photos per album Customize the transition effects between photos to your liking .

Penzu is an online diary and personal journal that is focused on privacy. With a unique and compelling user experience, it makes writing online as easy and intuitive as writing on a pad of paper. Origins of Penzu
Why isn't there an easy and secure way to record your thoughts online? All of the current online solutions are either clunky, bloated, or not geared for private writing. Why would you want to keep a private journal on a blogging service that's intended for public use? The alternatives to keeping private information on a desktop computer or in a notepad while effective, aren't entirely safe either.
Penzu offers a secure place to store your thoughts and ideas in the cloud. Not only are entries password protected in an online account, but individual entries can be locked with military-grade encryption. With our powerful security also comes extreme ease of use. The core component of the interface is the Pad - a metaphor for a pad of paper. This universal design element has allowed Penzu to transcend language and cultural barriers as people from 170 countries continue to use the service. We have always made the user experience a top priority and it is one of our main differentiations from complicated and confusing competitors. The name, Penzu, comes from many influences, but mainly it is a derivative of the Latin "pensare" which means to think or be full of thought.

NoRedInk.com is a web-based learning platform that helps students improve their grammar and writing skills. Here’s what makes special:
High-interest Content: Students generally find grammar boring because the content doesn’t relate to them. We generate all our grammar sentences using each kid’s favorite celebrities, hobbies, TV shows, and personal friends, making the content inherently interesting. Students can get unlimited practice, and they never see the same question twice.
Adaptive Learning: Our engine provides differentiated instruction, adjusting questions based on what students get right/wrong and drilling down to their underlying misconceptions. When learners get stuck, we show them tutorials that help them correct their mistakes and keep going.
Practice Exercises/Quizzes/Assignments: In addition to students practicing their grammar skills on their own, teachers can use the site to give assignments and quizzes that are uniquely generated according to each kid’s interests.
Progress-tracking Features: Our color-coded "heat maps" allow teachers, students, and administrators to track progress easily. Teachers can use class trends to instantly inform instructional decisions as well as view students’ homework and quiz scores. This site was created by a teacher, so it’s easy for teachers to use.

This 53 hour conference will indeed provide opportunities for sharing and further understanding virtual world technology. Whether your virtual adventures take you to Second Life, OpenSim, World of Warcraft, Eve Online or Club Penguin – you are part of a global interconnected network. It’s about people. It’s about community. Its’ about learning. It’s more than a platform – it’s the stories we tell and the way we share them. The divide between what is real and what is virtual is a state of mind.
You can keep in touch with this conference on facebook , on twitter or join second life group .
Besides Second Life, the session use the following Grouply for sharing information and facilitating interactions: http://village.grouply.com
Objectives :
*to help the teacher learners to get to know each other

*to introduce basicprocedures in Second Life: e.g. sitting & standing; moving fromplace to place, turning round, flying using voice etc.
*to visit different spaces in Second Life to explore their potential for being used for language learning
*to visit some spaces in Second Life where languages are taught to understand how Second Life is being used or may be used for language learning and teaching as well as to practice both informally and formally
*to participate in and reflect on learning conversations with experienced educators in Second Life
*participants to reflect on what has been experienced during the course and to share their ideas with others in the discussion forum

We shall focus on exploring ‘learner friendly environments’ , and will concentrate on places where English is taught.
Participants will continue to network for informal get togethers and invite experienced Second Lifers to join us for a learning conversation.
Week 4 January 25 - February 6, 2011 -
Simulated real-life scenes, role-playing and active communities in Second Life
This week we will focus on simulated real-life scenes, recreations of historical monuments, sites, real life places, and lively, active communities in Second Life.
There will be opportunities for the participants to experience immersive environments and the challenges involved in learning a language in SL.

This week will be spent visiting areas in SL where different languages are spoken. This will include Real Life places that are represented in SL as well as places where languages can be learned. The overall aim is for everyone to have an initial idea of how SL can be used / is being used for language learning, (teaching) and practice both informally and formally.
There will be guided tours of some RL places in SL where we will try some language activities. Then, you will be given a list of LMs (landmarks) to more such places, which you can explore in your own time. There will also be a tour of an interactive Mexican town, which is a nice example of how learners can interact with scripted objects in SL.
All of these places can be used in a synchronous formal session with a teacher but also informally by students, who can practise their language skills and learn vocabulary on their own.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this week, you should:
- have reflected on your visits in a blog post in the TLinVW Ning.
- have participated in the forum discussion for this week
- be aware of how Second Life can be used by language learners for language practice
- have started to become comfortable with the Second Life interface and with its communication tools.
