Damn, I've totally fallen off the wagon with keeping my blog and newsletter up to date. I've been working on a number of different projects, both mashup and non-mashup related. Here's a new mix I put together of some Dubstep and related songs I enjoy:
I'll see if I can retroactively post some missing materiel from this blog - namely my involvement in the Global Mashup Crew (GMC). Stay tuned!
The most recent GMC collaboration to date. The theme behind this EP was to take you "back to the 80s with a fresh new touch from the future." My contribution was a mashup of Katy Perry's "E.T." with "I Wanna Be A Coboy" by Boys Don't Cry.
Our second collaborative effort as the GMC. My submission was a mashup of Eminem's "The Way I Am" with Vitalic's "Trashion."
After the success of the "Welcome Back Weezey" Mashup Tribute, a handful of the contributing partners (myself included) decided to continue our collaborative efforts under the guise of "The Global Mashup Crew." The "Biggest Hits 2010" compilation was our first project under our new title. My submission was a mashup of Eminem's "I'm Not Afriad" with The Chemical Brothers' "The Boxer."
I've always been fascinated by what b-boys and b-girls can do. I've put together this sample of songs I've been using while practising breakin', popin', lockin' and other b-boy moves. I'd like to think there's a decent blend of funk, jazz, rock, electro, breaks, as well as some old & new school hip-hop. Remember, it all starts with feeling the beat!
