Flowing Organic Pieces
Yesterday Jonna sent me a link to these super cool images of varnish flowing in a bowl of water (see below the video). At first I was thinking they were 3D, but I discovered they were actually shot on a Canon Rebel. Pretty impressive. So it's a coincidence that today I came across this video that seems similar to the varnish images but in motion (yes this is 3d). This piece below is titled 'Nokta', which is an abstract film about organic pieces.<object height="281" width="500"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"/><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=9856705&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=1&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1"/><embed allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" height="281" src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=9856705&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=1&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500"></embed></object>More images here.

After watching this music video I was wondering who the crap would think of this idea and then be able to build it. So I looked it up. Turns our Syyn Labs created the Rube Goldberg machine for Ok Go's latest music video. It took 60 times over 2 days to complete the video. I know for a fact that I would not have the patience for this kind of project. But I can definitely appreciate it. More info about the video here. -

Looking forward to this documentary on legendary architecture photographer Julius Shulman. More info about the film here.Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, VISUAL ACOUSTICS celebrates the life and career of Julius Shulman, the world’s greatest architectural photographer, whose images brought modern architecture to the American mainstream. Shulman, who passed away this year, captured the work of nearly every modern and progressive architect since the 1930s including Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, John Lautner and Frank Gehry. His images epitomized the singular beauty of Southern California’s modernist movement and brought its iconic structures to the attention of the general public. This unique film is both a testament to the evolution of modern architecture and a joyful portrait of the magnetic, whip-smart gentleman who chronicled it with his unforgettable images.
