DARREN BRAZIL
Profile
Post Production Manager at IGN Entertainment
Media Production | San Francisco Bay Area, US
Summary
I have been a broadcast media and communications professional in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost a decade, holding many different titles from production assistant to editor to producer. Over the years I have acquired a vast array of production skills, including two distinctive traits that I embody: creativity and reliability.
Creatively, making videos has been a passion of mine since age eight. I would use the family VHS camcorder to make stop-motion movies with my toys, commercials for make believe brands and even music videos – some of which I embarrassingly was the star. Although I was just having fun, even at such a young age I was learning invaluable storytelling skills that have matured with me as my talents have expanded. Now, with almost ten years of professional experience, I am able to consistently craft a myriad of creative elements into visually stunning pieces of work with a clear and concise message that does not get lost amongst flashy editing techniques. But no matter how well the product is made it would be useless if it were not achieved in a timely and efficient manner. For as much as I have been praised for my creativity – whether by peers, superiors or through several Emmy awards I have received – the attribute to which I contribute the majority of my success is my reliability. A deadline is never missed and I have had many moments where clients are amazed with how good the product turns out even under quick, pressure-filled turnarounds. For as creative as a message may be, it would mean nothing unless delivered at the right time.
