What is Cut&Paste?
The Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament is a live graphic design competition in 2D, 3D and motion design. Each competitor’s work is displayed in real time onto large displays, allowing the audience to observe every technical move and creative decision. Cut&Paste lives as a global movement of artists, firms, and media working to strengthen creative networks worldwide. In 2009, the 16-city global tour traveled through North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and ended with the debut of the Global Championship event in New York City. Cut&Paste website
My Integrated Plan
The traveling event series required a global marketing plan, one that included integrated sponsorship involvement, strategic media partnerships, traditional and grassroots public relations, and an online content strategy.
By developing a holistic plan, Cut&Paste was able to capture the attention of art and design enthusiasts and those looking to witness the design process, live in real time.

CLIENT PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: 55DSL
In addition to being a Global Sponsor for the event series, 55DSL developed limited edition products through creative collaboration with Cut&Paste designers.
Results:
55DSL designed a limited edition Capsule Collection with the Hong Kong 2D design winner Calvin Kwok, distributing the collection in partnership with e-tailer Yoox.com.
Programs in parallel to this initiative include a partnership with the Global Championship winner to design a limited edition t-shirt line distributed in flagship stores worldwide.
In celebration of their enthusiasm towards the Cut&Paste collaboration, 55DSL created a promotional video (above) featuring Creative Director Andrea Rosso as he discusses the partnership and 55DSL’s passion for graphic design.

MEDIA PARTNERSHIPS
Media partners assisted Cut&Paste with reaching a larger audience through unique, bartered media trade in exchange for equal exposure to a worldwide network of designers and creative decision makers.
IdN Extra 01: Cut&Paste, from Sketch to Production
Cut&Paste was given a unique opportunity to collaborate with IdN Magazine - an international design publication and one of Cut&Paste’s global media partners - to publish a book, titled “IdN Extra 01: Cut&Paste, from Sketch to Production”, highlighting the process behind the work of designers & judges from past Cut&Paste competitions.
The outcome represents a published book that gives readers an understanding of Cut&Paste’s contribution to a global network of designers, recognizing the importance of inspiration and creative direction along the path to the final product. The book is distributed worldwide, with a print circulation of over 80,000. It is also available at IdN’s online bookstore.
