Cockroach Theatre proudly announces its Tenth Anniversary Season of Plays running from October 2013 through May 2014. Following the success of our inaugural season here at downtown’s Art Square Theatre—including this past May’s production of Death of a Salesman—our new season pairs Nobel and Pulitzer prize winners with the plays of contemporary authors, including a world premiere by native Las Vegan, Ernie Curcio.
Cockroach Theatre has never shied away from darker works. This season is no different. But now, ten years later, we’ve found some of the joy in that darkness.

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY
by Nobel Prize Winner Harold Pinter
Directed by Erik Amblad
The play that put Pinter on the map. The owner of a lonely coastal resort decides to throw a birthday party for her only guest, a strange man named Stanley. Just in time for the party, two even stranger men arrive and teach Stanley a hard lesson about running away from one’s past.

Beneath its boring façade there is more going on in the tiny town of Clear Creek than the opening of the new Taco Bell. Four of the town's local girls take you on a tour of their funny, yet brutal reality. They struggle with faith, friendship, sex, the occult, algebra, and the disappearance of the most popular boy at school.

CORNER OF HACIENDA

On Thanksgiving 1994, Elliott and Francis Debanari try to keep their East Las Vegas neighborhood together, while dealing with their out of town relatives. By the end of an epically strange turkey dinner, the Debanari boys find out the true meaning of Family.
