For now, Please bear with me at my new digs.

Ran yesterday. Only a mile and a quarter.
But it still felt good.
I’m finally getting over a surprisingly painful ankle injury, caused by stepping on one of the kids’ toys.
Fat man + bad ankle = hesitancy to really push physical limits
But I think I’m good now – finally, after a month and a half.

So right now, I’m pleased when I can break a 10-minute per mile pace,
which I did yesterday.
However, at the end of the run, I kicked it in for the last 200 meters and nearly reached my old running pace.
I don’t know how I did it before, but it’d sure be nice to do it again.
Now, to balance dreams with reality and see what’s wise.

To merely start without finishing is just boasting, or stalling, or a waste of time. – Seth Godin, Poke The Box

About to go for a run.

Been a while.

Open the gates…

Back now.
That didn’t go too badly.
I think I swallowed my biggest bug ever, on a run, though.
I’ll try to make this a habit again.
The running…not the bug…

The most practical, beautiful, workable philosophy in the world won’t work – if you won’t.

What motivates you?

Purpose?
Responsibility?
Duty?
Depression?
Spite?
Anxiety?
Love?
Passion?

There’s plenty with which to be motivated.
Handle it as if it were a gift, or you’re doomed to pity yourself. And there’s nothing productive about that…

June 11, 11:42 PM

Well, I had been working a bit on a new look. But I’m running into some hiccups.
In my current set-up, I’m unable to post photos in my posts. It makes for a very one-dimensional presentation and takes away a bit of the excitement for me.
Eh, excuses excuses.

Gotta ramp up some effort here.

Running through the motions.

Prayer, without a committed heart, is not prayer. I think.
Obviously, that’s ultimately up to God.

It’s never my place to judge the salvation of another, regardless of their actions.
God does not ask for our help in these decisions. It’s not our place. And we are nowhere near worthy. Not even on the radar.

However, that doesn’t give us a pass to make up our own rules.
God really does lay it out very clearly.
No priorities above His.

It’s so easy, with these “free wills” of ours, to fall into a comfort zone.
“My faith is strong” (without any practice) is not a church…

I guess, if I really wanted to, I could just say that everything outside of this blog had higher priority.
But, that’s not truthfully the case.
Yes, there’s been some restructuring.
And I’ve benefited from that too – my blood pressure is 100\70.
I also found out that I’m only about 5 pounds over my ideal body weight, which is a huge surprise, since I check in at 230.
But this blog has suffered a great deal.
Let’s try to put an end to that.

On my job?
Nope, that’s tomorrow.

This was my first day at the gym in a very long time.
Years even.
We joined a very nice gym yesterday.
At first, we had some reservations. But what they have for the kids is much better than the local YMCA. (Meg was restricted from taking the kids there in the afternoon.)

So, I was up at 5:30 and drove to the gym.
That’s something else about the expense. We’re paying a lot of money. So I’m gonna get my money’s worth!
