After watching last night’s FlashForward it has made me rethink possible ways the writers can explain the show and it’s all down to 1 possible explanation: 2 timelines. It finally makes sense in my eyes after weeks of thinking how stupid this show was. Before all I could see were paradoxes within the show but after last night’s episode it finally makes sense and also proves fate isn’t possible within the realms of the show. I still hate the show though.
The show starts out in Timeline A and then the blackout occurs. When the blackout is over it causes a second timeline that I call Timeline B. Timeline B is exactly the same as Timeline A until everyone wakes up after the blackout. In Timeline A people woke up without flashforward memories but in Timeline B, people woke up and had memories of future events occurring on April 29th, 2010 but those events occurred in Timeline A.
Timeline A: Blackout occurs (no one sees memories though) > Time passes (people move on from mystery blackout) > April 29, 2010 (random insignificant day in people’s lives, but the people in Timeline B see this as their future)
Timeline B: Blackout occurs (people see memories of events that occur on April 29, 2010 in Timeline A) > Time passes (people move on from the mystery blackout/flashforward incident and things start changing from Timeline A because of flashforwards) > April 29, 2010 (It’s unknown what the future will bring but the events from the flashforwards are most likely to be different based on giving people the knowledge of them.)
Possible Paradox halfway explained: If Mark is investigating the incident of the flashforwards (on April 29, 2010 in Timeline A) it makes a giant plothole since he shouldn’t have seen any memories in the Timeline A blackout. But, if everyone blacked out, that would warrant his investigation. But as for the Mosaic and the blue hands being part of the investigation on the board; I have no idea on that. Maybe the blue hand group in Timeline A could have lured in many more people since everyone saw nothing but darkness. So while Timeline B’s blue hand group lured in only the small percent of people that had no flashforward memories; Timeline A’s would have been open to the whole world possibly. Mosaic is anyone’s guess, maybe just a website to help connect people after the millions died after the blackout since there was no flashforwards that everyone in Timeline B have been focusing on.
Last night’s episode made me finally suspect this theory was correct when the FBI agent (Jett Jackson?) killed himself and there was no course correction that stopped him. If there was only one timeline then time/fate/whatever would have course corrected itself to make sure the events of the future would happen. It sounds absurd but invisible forces would have made sure the agent couldn’t have killed himself so he could atleast live to April 20th, 2010 and be in the meeting with the woman and then answer the phone and have a conversation.
Based on my theory, the agent (Jett Jackson) would have caused the death of that woman and agent Demetri would have died before April 20th in Timeline A. But Timeline B is still being written, events are changing each week but they aren’t really being changed, they are being written for the first time, in that timeline. Other things like the lesbian FBI agent being pregnant and any other event is questionable, right now anything can happen since the moment people woke up in Timeline B.
No grammar was checked, I’m too lazy for that.
