Principal Designer at Vodafone
Design | Reading, United Kingdom, GB
During my extensive career I have been fortunate to work with some fantastic people at forward-thinking organisations and on some exciting projects with brands such as: Knight Frank, Aintree Racecourse, Pearson Education, UK Athletics, UK Sport, McAfee, Universal Music, HiPP Organic, Vodafone and IBM.
Career skills, knowledge and expertise have all been determined by the peaks and troughs of trends. From the creation of interactive CD-ROMs, developed through Director, the Flash boom and nowadays, the adoption of a mobile-first mentality. The need to adapt and absorb new techniques/skills/software/responsibilities has been a fundamental key to achieving success in my career to date, and I am sure will continue to do so in the ever-changing creative environment. I enjoy tackling the challenges that present themselves on a daily basis and reaching an outcome that answers a client brief, along with helping their business achieve success.
Both college and university should never be underestimated in terms of presenting the techniques that are the bedrock of the creative industry, from silkscreen and letterblock printing to double-exposure and darkroom development of film. Technology, during my development, wasn't the be-all-and-end-all answer to creative assignments and the grounding and insight a non-tech approach gave me was paramount in instilling the belief that anything is possible... rather than be restrained by RAM.
