Hairstylist
Pavielyn and I have made it to the semi-finals in the competition with our model Nina. We are super excited! The event takes place at The Warehouse in Toronto on April 8th. We are in the process of creating a look for our model. We have to wait until after the competition to post the photos of our entry. I will post some pics when I can!
Well fellow Hamiltonian Artcrawl goers, it’s the June Artcrawl this Friday! I thought hmmmm. Let’s do another scavenger hunt!! Gonna call it SCVNGR HUNT from now on, just for fun!
Enter for a chance to win an amazing makeover at McKinnon Hair Design!
So this Friday I’m going to be at the Artcrawl with my @cameronHair models. Nina and Pavielyn. You might remember them from the Window Installation from November and December.
I’m going to do a haircut on Nina somewhere outdoors… I’m not even sure where yet so I can’t really give a clue for that. But we will definitely be getting some Sweet Ice Cones and then checking out the H24 awards at some point.
TO ENTER:
Take a pic with one of the Models and post it on Twitter to @cameronHair and use the #hamont and #artcrawl hash tags!
Go to CameronElder.com for a peek at what the models look like!

Hey Hamilton Peeps! Tonight at the Artcrawl you can win a free Makeover at McKinnon Hair Design by doing my James N Scavenger Hunt!!
Heres the list of clues that will lead you to some of my favorite places to go on James St. N!!
To enter the contest snap a cool pic of the business or place and post it on twitter to @cameronhair and use the #hamont #artcrawl hashtags…
Each correct pic you post counts as one entry! Soooo… The more clues you solve the better your chances of winning!
I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of sweet pics of my favorite places on James!
Clues:
1. This new and also historic addition to James St. has made us all so proud. They had their grand opening at the last artcrawl.
2. This clue includes 2 really cool shops that have had different locations on James before their current locations. These 2 shops have been an amazing part of transforming their block! I Love them!
3. This Restaurant has been building an outstanding reputation for several years serving “authentic” food!! And I’ve been told a great mojito! You gotta try it!
4. This amazing Cafe serves locally roasted Speakeasy coffee.
5. Go here for the BEST BUNS and TARTS!
6.The coolest street market in the city for those in the know. Where else do they put produce out on the sidewalk!
7. You might find Jeremy from Junior Boys at this place from time to time.
8. Last but not least! This shop has been serving the local music scene since 1991, but he doesn’t make house calls. Oh wait maybe he does! Haha.
Well folks there are the clues! I will be choosing a winner tonight around 11 so make sure to post lots of pics before then!
I hope you all have a great time tonight exploring the downtown!

McKinnon Hair Design hosted Simon Chercuitte, Artistic Director at La Coupe in Montreal.
We also welcomed stylists from around the city to take in the education. Simon wowed us with four cuts for us in his short time here and our models all loved their new looks! I was also able to do a cut for the audience of about 15, doing a really cool bob.
Thanks Simon for coming out today! Also thanks to Chris, Andy and Denise for organizing the event!
Here is Simon’s winning collection from the North American Hairdressing Awards:
Well folks. I had an amazing day in Montreal on Tuesday. Hanging out with the team from Salon Pure (2011 North American Salon of the Year) was fantastic as always. They were doing a shoot to enter the North American Hairstyling Awards for the same category. Let’s just say that these guys are pros. I got to see all the behind the scenes action. Out of respect for their work I cannot post any of the pics that I snapped on my cell phone. But just for fun I’m going to throw in a few shots from some of their previous collections.
Thanks to the Pure team!
On Tuesday next week, I’ll be flying to Montreal for the day to attend a photo shoot with the internationally acclaimed team from Salon Pure. Led by Daniel Benoit, this team has won numerous awards, including North American salon of the year and North American Hairstylist of the year. Daniel has been a major source of inspiration for us all over the last several years.
I’ve included some photos produced by the team, so I’ll let them speak for themselves. My favorite out of these is the purple one!
