iTunes - Head of Editorial (DE/AT)
With my experience of working more than 15 years in the music buisness I started working for iTunes right after the DE/AT store opened. My responsibility here was to develop the editorial direction of the store. Every week I selected and programmed music for all genres by means of market and music relevance for iTunes. My status was some kind of hidden, I was not allowed to talk to labels, artists and distributors who could have taken any influence on what is featured. I worked from home, just connected via internet and regulary business meetings in the headquarters of the company. The german team at this time has only 3 people (Editorial, Labelrelations and Marketing)
15 Years of music buisiness:
I worked for the label Disko B ('93) and opened up one of the first booking agencies in Germany. I represented artsits like DJ Hell, Abe Duque, Blake Baxter, Patrick Pulsinger..)At the same time I was resident DJ at the Club Ultrashall and was also responsible for the bookings over there in the 2nd area.
In '96 I left Munich to move to Hamburg to work for Polygram (ElektroMotor) do to the PR for artists like Goldie, 4Hero, MoneyMark, Rony Size, Uncle ... )After the company became Universal Music I left and started working as a freelance PR (Many different labels, artists and clients)
In '99 I worked as press assistant for the biggest ever Love Parade (Berlin) I moved here and worked also as a freelancer for labels and artists like Gebrüder Teichmann, SonarKollektiv etc.
After my further education in event management I started working for the software company go_disko*. (Filemaker based software for labels and agencies) I was responsible for everything except programming. Coordination of the daily business, support, customer relationship etc..
