Somebody recommend me some medicine because I’ve tried a bunch of things and I feel like I’m getting worse. (I mean, I woke up at 5:30am after like 4 hours of sleep and I want to sleep more, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.) Yarrrrr, I should stop complaining, but I don’t have anything better to do.

    Still sick...

Thumbs down. I am sitting on my couch playing Mahjong and listening to Blink 182. Don’t know if the whole laundry and groceries thing is going to happen because I do not want to move. Can this cold go away now please?

  • January 08, 12:58 AM

    Mmm cold/allergy medicine

Just took a Benedryl and now I am going to pass out. Woo nothing to do tomorrow except laundry and groceries!

Carrie Underwood will make her acting debut on an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother.

Underwood will play Tiffany, an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest for Ted, in an episode scheduled to air in March.

The CBS comedy series celebrates its 100th episode on Jan. 11, when Stacy Keibler will join the show as a guest. That milestone will also mark the beginning of a guest arch for Rachel Bilson, who may or may not be The One.

How big can I make my =_______=  to illustrate how this makes me feel?

Holy snap, Carrie Underwood? That’s ridiculous. Also, Rachel Bilson? No..

And I was like, “Oh, well. There’s another study I heard about that says that if you have a lot of alcohol in your system and you eat a quesadilla at three in the morning, it’s delicious.

That was done by the Aziz Ansari Institute for Delicious Eating.””

I subscribe to the Aziz Ansari Institute for Delicious Eating’s philosophy.

Mmmm hmmm. Quesadillas are good anytime of day even without alcohol though.

Went to the incredibly amazing Peter Pan Bakery in Greenpoint today with Ivonna, Hilda and Kaitlynn. I did this instead of doing laundry and buying groceries, but red velvet donuts are so worth it.

The hills of Northern Manhattan.  It’s here where the namesake Manhattan schist thrusts upward from the earth, leading to some of the highest elevations in New York City.  (Of note: the highest elevation on the eastern seaboard south of Maine?  Todt Hill, on Staten Island.)

Those highest elevations also lead to the deepest stations in the whole New York City subway system.  (The one closest to here - 207th Street on the “A” line - is not as deep as the nearby 181st Street station on the 1/9 lines, which is all of 180 feet below ground.  That’s the equivalent of an 18-story building, dudes.)

I digress.  Here’s the hill at Isham Street.

Hey there, Inwood. See you tomorrow!

So tonight I went to a Roots concert with my sister and then watched Grandma’s Boy for the millionth time. Being home is weird and I want to go back to the city, although I am enjoying hanging out with the cats and eating awesome things like Panera and Chick-fil-A and whatnot.

P.S. No Pants Subway Ride on the 10th? Anybody want to go with me?

I love being in the second row. I love “Truth of My Youth.” I love nice crowds full of kids who don’t grab or push or scream obnoxiously (well, except for that one time). I love Cyrus. I love matching shirts. I love boys with sleeves. I love shakers. I love eye contact. I love every song Chris Carrabba has ever penned. I love the crowd singing along. I love Chris smiling at the crowd singing along. I love jokes and laughing and forgetting the words. I love fulfilling dreams from 2003. The best music will always be whatever I listened to in high school.

Re: your tags- Chris may be too short for you, but he’s taller than me. :) I am so jealous that you saw NFG and Dashboard at the freakin’ Ottobar. As I recall, that place is ridiculously small. Was this some sort of secret show or are they really that unpopular? Oh hey, I just realized I’ve seen both of those bands twice… Haha, this post = ADD from writing papers and being exhausted, sorry.

I’ll be home for winter break this time next week. Aside from seeing Emily tons for the first few weeks, I don’t know what I’ll do with myself. I’ve cut almost all of my ties from high school and my group of work friends has apparently been on the outs all semester. I’ll probably sell my soul back to Panera for hours in January, since I want to guarantee myself a job for next summer. I guess I’ll just make up for all of the hours I spent avoiding my family in my  teenage youth by hanging out with my nineteen-month-old niece or my parents or my cats. Knitting.

I will hang out with you when I go home, but that probably won’t be until Dec 22/23. You could always take a bus up to see me in New York. :)

I’m a mess right now thanks to finals. Today I did literally nothing after I found out my class was canceled. (Not totally true. I went to a concert just now.) This was not okay because I have a ton of work to do. I got home and re-heated McDonald’s (so gross, but whatever) for dinner. Now I must get homework done for tomorrow because I will have no time before class since I have to make up hours at my internship. Cannot wait until Friday because I will be mostly done with the semester and that is cause enough to celebrate.

Do you guys remember when I went through that button phase where I’d sew buttons upon buttons on any surface I could get my hands on/sew on? I have bags and bags of random buttons like these that I’d buy from Michael’s just for the hell of it. I can’t wait to go home for break where I have access to all of my craft/art supplies. One thing that doesn’t make my place up here feel like home is having all of my craft fixins’ all the way back in Virginia.

Michael’s?! No, Kim… Jo-Ann’s is so much better.

“Or, in my case at least, I have been at some point in my growing up, so in this movie, so in love with the whole thing of it, that I wanted to buy armfuls of white t-shirts and olive green cardigans from The Gap and be that skinny, be “a lone reed”, wear a strappy wristwatch and go to Starbucks and maybe aim for bigger breasts and low-rise Dockers instead of pleat-front, but still, to this day, imagine he is walking just behind me on city blocks unnoticed, ordering me bouquets of sharpened pencils for Fall and stealing my business out from under me and making plans to ruin my life. Or something. Because that is love, we have learned, are reminded: we earn it, through unrelenting patience and saintlike forgiveness and cute-meet, Hollywood coincidence and E-MAIL.”
