The Star Wars Uncut site I designed has given birth to a full-length film. Apparently it is the best one ever made! Click through to New York Mag article.
I Work For The Internet http://t.co/ntQv5bsz
disturbing things on my walk in the park: 1. cement case with “i am here” written on it. 2. open, full suitcase in trashcan. 3. cellulite.
i ordered a dog tag for Max with my address on it, a custom tag set in a collar. the company sent it to the wrong address.
I’d like to introduce my new dog, Max the minpin. He is 3 years old from a rescue shelter and seems pretty happy to be sitting on my lap as I am posting this.
First off, I’m a liberal. But I do believe in acting like a grown up.
The people involved in occupy wall street are like the little kid that would sit next to you in the car, with their finger one inch from your face.
“Don’t touch me,” you say
“I’m not touching you,” they say back.
This exchange continues ad nauseum.
Then the car hits a bump, and they DO touch you. You push them away.
They start BAWLING. ”Mom he PUSHED me! He is TORTURING me! He used a net to gather me up and MACE me and I wasn’t doing ANYTHING.”
Seriously. Get permits to protest. Stop pushing your middle finger just up to the line of the law and then complain where there is a reaction. What did you think was going to happen? The evil traders will just come out of their office buildings and burn their briefcases in alliance? You need to organize and strategize above the street level to enact change. Without an MLK or John Lennon on board, you are just going to get arrested.
All this being said, the NYPD does tend to have the attitude of grabbing your hands and pushing them at you, saying “stop hitting yourself.”
I do not agree with many of the practices of the police department and have laughed at more than a few memes depicting a rebellious action toward “da police”. However, since there have been around 10 sexual assaults in Park Slope since May, I DO appreciate the police ‘tips’ van with tipline numbers on the side that is driving around our neighborhood today. The driver is loudspeakering the way the attackers approach women, how many different identified men there are, and what to do if you have an incident. It may be just a gesture, but it may encourage the creeps who are doing this to stop. It may be a useful gesture.
So you’re saying the market makes sense to people who study the market, but not the people who create, drive, and live through the market? SOUNDS LEGIT.
