Alison is member of the marketing team at Springpad, a Boston-based consumer web startup built by the Spring Partners team. Previously, Alison was the Community Manager at Smarterer, a Google-funded startup also based in Boston. Additionally, she is a proud former co-founding team member at The DoBand Campaign, a social media startup currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She has an extensive history working and interning for public relations and reputation communications at a number of award-winning agencies, including Fleishman-Hillard London, The CHT Group (formerly Bell Pottinger USA) and Morrissey & Co. Alison has also held internships in special events, marketing and business development roles.
Alison is an avid blogger, writer and event host, and is actively involved in the social media and tech startup communities. She has been featured in Mashable! and ABC Tech news for her social media accomplishments, and has been invited to speak on communications and social media panels in Boston.

Community Manager / Smarterer
Smarterer tests and scores people on their digital, social, and technical skills – from Excel and Powerpoint to Google Analytics, Salesforce.com, and Javascript – using crowdsourced test design and a scoring algorithm similar to the one developed to rank chess masters. Users take tests and get a badges that represents their skill level and are designed to be shared anywhere they express their professional identity (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogging platforms, resumes, etc.). Smarterer's goal is to enable people to validate their skills and show the world what they know.
Smarterer is funded by true Ventures and Google Ventures, with participation from angels including Mark Gerson, Shikhar Ghosh, Scott Kurnit, Peter Lehrman, Thomas Lehrman, and Dharmesh Shah, among others.
