Summary

Hi - I'm Alex.

I currently serve as CEO at Core Merchant - a financial services technology company in the Quicken Loans / Rock family of companies which I co-founded in Detroit, MI in July 2010. In addition to a strong business leadership training at Bizdom U, I've served in leadership positions with 20+ organizations, spent 7 years heading up a design and marketing firm, and I have a diverse educational background ranging from philosophy to electrical engineering. With a strong skill-set in design, marketing, and communications, I have a unique combination of abilities to spot trends, develop strategy, and communicate vision - and I love to use it.

As an entrepreneur, I plan to continually bring new and innovative ideas from dream to reality by building teams, communicating vision, and leading both to their fullest potential.
Specialties: Leadership, communications, speaking, organizational strategy, vision, design, and a pretty intense hobby of staying up-to-date on the latest in connected technologies and social media.

    While at Hillsdale College, I worked in the Audio and Video production department, and was the lead student A/V technician. My duties included: Equipment management and operation Filming and Film direction Audio and Video production Final DVD and CD design and production.
  • 2004 - Present
    Co-op Electrical Engineer / General Motors
    I worked at the Flint, MI Metal Fabrication facility as a co-op student electrical engineer. While at GM I designed tooling carts and a quality standards training system --- both now in use across the U.S. at metal stamping facilities. I also gained valuable experience supervising United Auto Workers Union employees from up to four different stamping lines at a time in the plant.
