I have been researching and developing ideas and projects related to the future of Journalism and Media. My background is diverse and I worked for a television, radio stations and press, so Online is the way to go because I can use this experience and go beyond what those platforms have to offer.

My goal is to work as a Multimedia Producer/Journalist, or as a consultant for traditional media willing to step into the future, or as a teacher, to prepare and share what I have learned with future journalists, because there is a future for Journalism. And I want to be a part of it.

Shot two videos with Nuno Prata, hosted in Vimeo and YouTube. Main differences:

  • Youtube was faster, has more virality;
  • Vimeo looks better, takes longer to make the video available for free accounts;

I believe they can be used side by side, depending on your goal: for portfolio purposes I prefer Vimeo, but to get the message out quickly I’d use YouTube, which is a service most people relate to.

What are your other favorite video hosting services of choice?

 

Fiz dois videos com o  Nuno Prata, alojei um no Vimeo e outro no Youtube. Diferenças:

  • o YouTube é mais rápido, tem mais viralidade;
  • o Vimeo tem melhor aspecto, mas com contas gratuitas demora mais tempo a disponibilizar o video;

Acho que ambos podem ser usados em simultâneo, depende é do vosso objectivo: para portfolio prefiro o Vimeo, mas para passar a mensagem depressa usaria o YouTube, que é um serviço com que a maioria das pessoas está mais à vontade.

Não há coisa pior que acordar de má vontade e de repente perceberes que as redes estão a fervilhar com alguma coisa que se passou durante a noite. Na minha timeline muita gente perguntava o que era a tag #prayforportugal, e tive que ir descobrir o que era.

Clicando na tag pude ver que os autores de tão generoso movimento eram espanhóis, logo tinha que desconfiar. Recuando um pouco no tempo percebi que falavam de um golpe de estado que tinha ocorrido durante a noite em Portugal. Ora, no Bom Dia Portugal da RTP, que estava a ver na altura, não diziam nada sobre o assunto, como seria natural em caso de estarem a inventar revoluções pela net.

Neste post explicam bem o que se passou, e tudo partiu de uma fotomontagem a simular um tweet do El País. Porque é que se gasta tempo e perícia nestas coisas não percebo, mas ainda me lembro do rumor nos mercados internacionais de um golpe de estado por cá ainda o Durão Barroso era primeiro ministro. Na China era tudo preso, mas felizmente não somos a China. Ainda.

Eu acho que é tudo inveja, mas não se deve começar o dia com uma mentira destas. A desilusão pode dar-nos cabo do dia. Nuestros hermanos, no Europeu hablamos, ok?

UPDATE: estou a ver alguns portugueses a inventar situações nas suas timelines para alinhar na brincadeira, como: “snipers estão a matar pessoas a partir do telhados do Porto” e que há combates nas ruas. Não brinquem, isto é tudo uma questão de percepção e já somos muito mal vistos por quem não nos conhece.

UPDATE 2: o Público apresenta outra versão e provavelmente estão mais certos que eu, porque têm meios para isso (e pagam-lhes). Agora  gostava de saber quem foi a inteligência na AP que se lembrou desta. Não confundam assaltos a multibancos com guerras civis.

UPDATE 3 (Com a ajuda do Luís Galrão): O Expresso alinha pela minha primeira versão e o Público mudou a versão inicial. (vejam os comentários abaixo). Acontece.
