Thomas the Headless Boy is a modern fairytale in the vein of Tim Burton and Roald Dahl, wherein a young boy manages through life with a severe deformitya missing headwhile embarking on a fantastic adventure to learn of his uncanny origins, find a father he has never known, and heal his emotionally crippled mother.
Ive been working on Thomas for a long time, but has never really come together. In the last few months, I have brought the amazing writer, Jeffrey Burandt, to the table and the results have been fantastic. This is the second in a series of posters based on several of the key characters.
This comic book is still being shopped around and hopes to find a home soon. If youre a publisher interested in this property and would like to see the entire pitch, please contact me at aaronbir@sequentialstutter.com. Thanks!

A quick sketch of ROM Spaceknight... Because, why not?
sorry for the bad scan
Having found a lovely model, she immediately made me think of both a creature of nature, something a bit cold and detached, and ornate art deco design. I tried to represent all these in this painting by using subtle tones on the figure in watercolor, deep blue-greens in acrylic to represent a lush environment, and a metallic bronze acrylic to create plant ornamentation.
This piece is available for $175.00. Got here for details and the rest of the paintings in the series. [link]
The latest in my current series of paintings. This is a bit of a departure from what I have been working on
This painting was based on a single panel from the story St. Annes, written by Doug Hahner and illustrated by me. (You can see the first four pages of the story on [link] ) I really fell in love with the composition of this particular bit of the story and thought I would blow it up on canvas. Let me know what think. Thanks for looking.
Not favorite of this series so far, but it is accurate.
To cold to go out and about for my journal today. This is a bit of our living room and a gesture drawing of my friend, Anne. Both in watercolor.
A watercolor pencil study of tree bark. The house in the background could have been better, but the ants were attacking me.
A watercolor for my sketchbook near Fiesta Gardens in Austin, Texas.
This is the first in a series of larger format (at least, for me) paintings/inkwashes.
I have a passion for our dual nature. I hope to represent it in various forms. Im choosing to use simple high contrast in blacks, whites, shades of gray to illustrate that point
and, well, I love the simple, yet engaging, nature of black and white.
here a link to photos of the process... [link]
