Since its inception, the ∆AIMON project has always been strongly centered around ritualism, esoteric and psychoanalytic traditions towards the interest of personal awareness, growth, and individuation of our light and dark selves; A balance of will and surroundings with strong intent built on absolute comprehension and illumination. Our art represents personal and surrounding awareness devoid of idealization, sometimes dwelling in the darker recesses of our consciousness. The sadness and nostalgia present in our work, an extension of our own perceptions directed outward in an energy fetishized and given appropriate form from which to analyze and re-appropriate as a piece of the whole. This process is at the core of our music and an important ritual that we wish to express to our followers. It’s an empowered program of self divinity within a sincere context of humanity/humility and a way in which to directly enrich and approach our higher selves without losing balance.


It is within the context of this artistic expression and experimentation that we are now extending our interests to a new format in the traditions of automatic writing, subversive and transgressive dialog, sexual and violent energies, sigilised art and practical Magick.

Towards this end we are happy to announce the AMEN ArtZine Mailing List to consist of:

- Quarterly Equinox/Solstice Zine Issues featuring artwork, writings, occult doctrine and essays, illustration and designs, etc.

- Each issue will contain a cassette of exclusive unreleased mixes, sound collages, and new material of an experimental nature to further explore interests outside the scope of our “official” releases.

- Hand selected/crafted artifacts of our discretion, including personalized items, tarot cards, etc. of magickal significance.

- Postcard art and update correspondence throughout the seasons.

By subscribing to the AMEN Mailing List you are opting in to a society of select individuals open to transgressive art-forms aimed at enveloping a manifested energy of sincerity, visceral honesty, and the development of appropriated darkness into a transcendent Self in the collective unconscious.

First, thank you so much for your long-time support. And no, you certainly don’t sound like an idiot. In fact that’s a question we get asked on quite a regular basis. For the sake of clarity we wrote up an explanation of some of the reasons and meaning behind our choice in name here:

In brief, the name itself is more of a sigilised intent than a specific word and so can be pronounced however you want to say it. The main intention however was drawn from the Greek word daimon as spelled with a delta to discern the original meaning from how the word has been corrupted via biblical references to ‘demons’. The original meaning implied a personal higher power or manifested inner guardian angel. A lot of focus to this particular idea exists in much of our occult interests and represents a very important study for us.

The alternate pronounciation of Ammon/Aimon/Amen is synchronistically tied to the same idea of inner knowledge through various associations so we have purposely alluded and encouraged this pronounciation as well.

It’s always rewarding to read that people understand our music from a somewhat spiritual way, even if that sounds strange to say. There’s definitely depth in our music we wish to convey so it means a lot to us that you regard it as such. Thanks again!

The two of us in ∆AIMON are avid readers so our list of literary influences could be immense, but I’ll try to limit it here to the most directly inspirational authors/works.

Firstly we have a large interest in psychoanalytic theory and the development of spirituality in a psychological sense so it goes to say the writings of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell are extremely important to us. Secondly we get a lot of ideas and style from various occult studies and manuscripts. Favorites being the essays and writings of Israel Regardie and Austin Osman Spare.

From a more fiction/artistic approach, our list includes: Charles Baudelaire, William Blake, the Polish author Bruno Schulz, Umberto Eco (especially Foucault’s Pendulum) the Wasp Factory and Crow Road by Iain Banks, and the profoundly influential Exegesis works of Philip K. Dick (VALIS, The Divine Invasion, The Transmigration of Timothy Archer).

There’s probably many more but those are the ones that come immediately to mind. Also, we’re always interested in suggestions if anyone wants to recommend books that fit within our themes.

Personally I feel that any genre definition is too limiting (as pretentious as that sounds LOL). In all seriousness though, we write music based on what represents us without really taking into account what it would be considered. Usually when asked I respond with “dark electronic” just to make things easier. That said, we don’t have anything against being associated with industrial (or any other genre for that matter) as it certainly has a very very large inspiration on our work.

hmmmm… that’s tough to answer. I think our first introduction to Witch House was through discovering the Gucci Mane remixes by Salem that showed up on HypeMachine… what immediately stuck with us was how evil and dark they sounded within the composition of dragged hip-hop elements and dark electronic synth layers. For us it felt like the perfect culmination of gritty satanic neo-paganism/tumblr culture and raw production. Our own project started as a similar build up of influences (but for us more relative to industrial/trip-hop/etc.). We wanted to create an output that would be a true representation of our personalities by incorporating all of the elements of those genres that we identified with the most…. and I personally feel like we succeeded in at least providing a sincere depiction of ourselves. So for me, Witch House is an experimental genre that allows for each independent artist to create their own variation of sounds based on their own personal interests. The genre itself is more of a blanket term to describe the aesthetic rather than a specific sound. Since it’s namely progressive electronic artists reacting to the cultural climate we are in (and all it’s resurfacing interest in metaphysics/occult/etc.) there tends to be some similarities, but more synchronous than conceptual…. Take in to consideration the direct influences of occult artists like COIL, Psychic TV, and the such and you end up with what is primarily thought of as Witch House now.  Especially when including the context of those interests within trend/cultural movement/metaphysical revolution cycles.

Yes, we’ve received a fair amount of interest from Poland due to our collaboration with Evil Eye Clothing. The original versions of the tracks CHOKE and EVIL EYE from the FLATLINER EP were written for use on the evileyeclothing.com website as well as their behind the scenes/lookbook video. If/When we do tour Europe, we’ll certainly make Poland a priority!

I’m honestly not very aware of EDM culture aside from having grown up with a strong interest in noise, breakcore, drum and bass, and general rave culture experiences (as well as electronic music in a wider scope that would include industrial and experimental compositions). From my perception, it seems that EDM has had most of it’s “evolution” attributed to a wider set of influences due to the recent mass popularizing of electronic music and its mainstream commercialism. It is interesting to see the popularity of it having a bit of a homogeneous effect on the style of the genre, but it’s not something I’m especially fond of. In any case, Witch House certainly stands on the precedent of a lot of various music influences. I’d definitely agree that it’s an extension of the cultural climate shift towards darker and more metaphysical interests as a reappropriation of pop music into an underground movement. This gives it a continuous shifting position within the EDM culture. For the most part it feels unrelated but as electronic music becomes more commercial, the underground counterpart will inevitably transition and evolve on its own.

We would absolutely love to and have already received a few requests to tour Europe but of course it’s a matter of organizing the finances… Still something we hope to accomplish soon. We’re mostly focused on writing our first official full length album at the moment but we will be addressing tour plans soon and will put serious thought into how we can make Europe happen.
