I was driving my dad to work in the morning, and we were having a light conversation when I first heard. I gave the radio knob a quick twist to hear what they were talking about. “That’s not a very funny hoax”, I said.
I got home about 20 minutes later and hopped onto our ghetto Acer computer, and sure enough; there were the images of one of the twin towers with a gaping, fiery wound.
September 11th was one of the first big news stories I “experienced” in the internet age. The shockwaves of that event still reverberate through society today, and similarly, there is a twinned-square imprint on my psyche that will likely last my entire lifetime.
Take a moment to think about that tragic event and the victims today.
