Nathan Russel Miller
is a high school student that loves Jesus, enjoys acting, takes pleasure in listening to music, doesn't read as much as he would like to, has toyed with Web Design and programming (then again, who hasn't?), and is almost addicted to tea.

I’m about to start reading Taming of the Shrew. Hella.
I love Taming of the Shrew. I hope the feminist in you doesn’t hate the actual “taming” of “the shrew”. Actually, a 21st century equivalent of that title would be “Putting the Bitch in Check.” But I have faith in your ability to look past the context and find meaning.

19 Things a Man Should Never Say
BlackBook additions: “Manischewitz”; “fashionista”; “frap” (as in frappucino); “jeggings”; “score” (as in ‘Man, I totally just scored with that hot chick!’); “BC” (as in birth control); “b-t-dubs” (it takes just as much breath to say “by the way”, save the text lingo for your Crackberry, loser); “bananaz”.

"Up In The Air" Writer Proposes No More Senior Year
Walter Kirn, the guy who wrote Up In The Air, proposed in an essay making primary education 11-grades long instead of 12. When you read it it you can hear George Clooney’s voice in your head. Very creepy.

“February 28, 2010 — An artist whose visions of the past, present, and future of space exploration have graced U.S. postage stamps, NASA mission patches, and the walls of the Smithsonian, Robert McCall died on Friday of a heart attack in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was 90..
Once described by author Isaac Asimov as the “nearest thing to an artist in residence from outer space,” McCall’s paintings first attracted the public’s attention in the 1960s on the pages of LIFE, illustrating the magazine’s series on the future of space travel. He expanded on that theme at the invitation of director Stanley Kubrick, who had McCall paint the advertising posters for his seminal 1968 science fiction film, “2001: A Space Odyssey.”“
An absolute legend. Rest in Peace, Robert

“Yet the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile. And it tells us everything about America except why we are proud that we are Americans.”
Robert F. Kennedy

This is amazing. This Australian guy has been locked in a hospital room for like 2 months straight because he is under quarantine for TB. So he makes funny raps and videos. AMAZING! Thanks to Vanessa for bringing this to my attention.

“Strictly speaking, there are no such things as good and bad impulses…The Moral Law is not any one instinct or set of instincts: it is something which makes a kind of tune by directing the instincts.”
C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity (via maskedon)
His musings on morality make a lot of sense to me. I should be sure to reread them.

Used Book Stores
I love them.
Yesterday I finished S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders. I should have read it (or seen the movie) by now, but I have managed to miss it. Next I need to read The Giver. Today I picked up Marx’s The Communist Manifesto and Great Dialogues Of Plato. Let’s see if I’m into this Philosophy thing. Currently read Ellison’s Invisible Man, Davis promises it will freak me out more than it has in the first three chapters. I’m excited. That and my whole world perceptions being changed. again. Need to write an essay on Sedaris’s Me Talk Pretty One Day. I should read more of his work. I enjoy it. That reminds me, I’ve discovered an affinity for PBS documentaries and NPR in general. -

“Now you young twerps want a new name for your generation? Probably not, you just want jobs, right? Well, the media do us all such tremendous favors when they call you Generation X, right? Two clicks from the very end of the alphabet. I hereby declare you Generation A, as much at the beginning of a series of astonishing triumphs and failures as Adam and Eve were so long ago.”

In 1965 Edward White became the second human and the first American to walk in space (the first was Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov). This restored photo shows him and the 25 foot long gold-plated tether which attached him to his small craft Gemini 4. Ed White was killed in 1967 while training for Apollo 1.
