Summary

I research emergent human behavior through activity recognition. Using techniques ranging from machine vision to voice recognition and stress analysis, I measure and associate behavior with individuals and groups and deduce internal motivational states to predict future action based on current and past aggregate data.

I started by contracting as a R&D and contractor clean-up guy. If you had a software project that lost a key engineer or consultant who botched a project or failed to meet a deadline, I would come in and either finish the project or create a report outlining the work to date in layman's terms. I still write software, but I'm trying to use it to find better data mining techniques.

For the past few years I have been researching multitouch user interfaces and developing software to predict gestures much in the same way autocomplete works for typed text.

Specialization is for insects." -- Robert Heinlein
